# ProtoFlow
> ProtoFlow is free AI PCB design software: a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. It takes a board from a plain-language description to manufacturing files in one tool: an AI first draft, a full schematic editor with real parts, PCB layout with an auto-router, SPICE simulation, and Gerber, drill and JLCPCB assembly files. Design files stay local.
ProtoFlow is a complete PCB editor with AI built in. It reads and writes KiCad, Altium and EAGLE projects, so teams can switch to it fully or use it alongside their existing EDA tool. The engineer reviews every AI draft and signs off on the board.
ProtoFlow is not a schematic-only tool. Older descriptions called it the "step zero" before layout; it now does PCB layout and autorouting itself.
