# General Legal
> The law firm for companies that need senior counsel without a traditional firm's overhead. Flat fees, partner-level work, and no billable hour.
General Legal is a US law firm, not a software product. Work is done by qualified attorneys who
carry malpractice insurance and are admitted in the jurisdictions listed on their profiles. Fees
are flat and quoted before the work starts.

## What the firm does and does not take on
General Legal handles transactional and advisory work: commercial contracts, employment
agreements, data privacy and DPAs, technology transactions and licensing, tax structuring,
financial regulatory terms, digital-asset agreements, and defense and government contracts.
It does not litigate. There is no courtroom practice, no criminal defense, no family or
immigration work, and no personal legal services — the client is a company, not an individual.
Matters are quoted as a flat fee before work starts rather than billed hourly, and every matter
is handled by an attorney admitted in the relevant jurisdiction, listed on that attorney's page.
