# VMPal > VMPal runs macOS, Windows and Linux virtual machines on Apple silicon Macs, and gives AI agents a machine of their own to work in. It's made by the TablePlus team. VMPal needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later. Virtual machines: VMPal downloads and installs the latest macOS, Windows 11, Ubuntu, Fedora and more in a few clicks, or installs from your own ISO or IPSW file. macOS and Linux run on Apple's Virtualization framework, and Windows on VMPal's own engine, all with GPU acceleration: Metal for macOS, Direct3D 11 and OpenGL 4.1 for Windows, and OpenGL 4.1 for Linux. Windows gets Retina up to 5K, 120 Hz on ProMotion displays, a TPM 2.0 and USB devices, and Linux gets Rosetta for Intel programs and nested virtualization. Each VM runs as its own app with its own Dock icon. Features: snapshots and clones that take space only as a VM changes; a shared clipboard with files, drag and drop, and shared folders; port forwarding; USB devices; sound and microphone per VM; settings that change while a VM runs; and importing VMs from Parallels. AI agents: VMPal has a built-in MCP server. One click adds it to Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, Antigravity and other agents, in a VM or on the Mac. The agent then sees the VM's screen, uses its keyboard and mouse, and runs commands, as the user or as an administrator. Because it uses the VM's own keyboard and mouse, it needs no permission prompts, and it never touches the Mac's own screen or files. Agent control can be turned off for any VM, and a snapshot taken before the agent starts rolls the whole machine back if something goes wrong. Containers: VMPal runs Linux containers in its own lightweight engine, without Docker Desktop. It works with the docker command, Docker Compose and Testcontainers after `vmpal containers setup`, and installs official Docker Hub images in one click. Remote Control: VMPal on one Mac shows another Mac's screen and uses its mouse and keyboard, straight from Mac to Mac over SSH, with no account or server in between, as an alternative to Screen Sharing and TeamViewer. The other Mac approves each new Mac and chooses what it may do. Pictures are always the other Mac's own pixels; on a good network text arrives exact, and moving windows and videos go as hardware video. Unattended access keeps a Mac nobody sits at awake and reachable. Command line: `vmpal` creates and starts VMs, runs commands in them, copies files in and out, and runs CI jobs in fresh clones of a prepared VM. Pricing: VMPal is free to download. A license is a one-time purchase (perpetual, no subscription) that unlocks every feature and includes 1 year of updates. There are Individual licenses for 1 Mac and Team licenses from 3 seats, with a 7-day money-back guarantee. ## Product - [VMPal home](https://vmpal.com/): Overview of virtual machines, AI agents, containers and remote control - [Download](https://vmpal.com/download): Download VMPal for Mac - [Pricing](https://vmpal.com/pricing): Individual and Team licenses - [Release notes](https://vmpal.com/changelog): What's new in each version ## Docs - [Command Line](https://vmpal.com/docs/command-line): Install vmpal, then use it from an AI agent, Terminal, scripts or CI - [Commands](https://vmpal.com/docs/command-line/commands): Every vmpal command in short - [CI/CD](https://vmpal.com/docs/command-line/ci): Run each CI job in a fresh clone of a prepared VM with vmpal run - [Scripts](https://vmpal.com/docs/scripts): Keep shell and PowerShell scripts in VMPal's Hub and run them in a VM, a fresh clone or on the Mac - [USB Devices](https://vmpal.com/docs/usb-devices): Use a USB flash drive, security key or other USB device in a VM - [Remote Control](https://vmpal.com/docs/remote-control): Control another Mac from VMPal over SSH, and keep a Mac nobody sits at reachable - [Deploy with MDM](https://vmpal.com/docs/mdm): Activate VMPal on managed Macs and restrict features and updates ## Optional - [Blog](https://vmpal.com/blog): News and articles - [Give your AI agent a whole computer](https://vmpal.com/blog/give-your-ai-agent-a-whole-computer): Why an AI agent works better in a machine of its own - [Issue tracker](https://github.com/TablePlus/VMPal-issue-tracker/issues): Bug reports and feature requests - [Contact](https://vmpal.com/contact): Sales and support - [TablePlus](https://tableplus.com/): Other apps from the same team
