# sshkeygen.dev
> Free, open-source (MIT) SSH key generator that runs entirely in the browser. It creates Ed25519, RSA (2048, 3072, 4096) and ECDSA (P-256, P-384, P-521) keys in OpenSSH format, with optional passphrase encryption (aes256-ctr, bcrypt_pbkdf, 16 rounds, the same as ssh-keygen). Keys are never sent over the network; a Content Security Policy forbids all network connections. No cookies, no analytics. Made by the team behind Termphin (https://termphin.dev), an SSH client whose sessions are never killed.
The generator outputs a public key line for authorized_keys, the private key file (-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY-----), the SHA256 fingerprint and the randomart image, with downloads named id_ed25519 / id_ed25519.pub (or id_rsa, id_ecdsa). A separate tool computes the SHA256 fingerprint of any pasted public key.
