# Roveri > Roveri is an iOS riding journal that records every ride — route, speed, elevation, and weather — and turns the season into a journal worth re-opening. ## What Roveri Does Roveri is a private journaling app for iPhone that captures the route, speed, elevation, and weather of every ride the user starts. It runs on the user's device, using Apple's own location and weather services, and each ride is saved to the user's own private iCloud. There is no account to create and no advertising; the only data collected is anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics. Over time, rides aggregate into a season and a year, viewable as filterable history (by route, weather, or time of day). Roveri is a journal, not a navigator — it does not plan routes or give directions. Key behaviors: - One tap to start a ride, one tap to end it; records the GPS route, live speed, and elevation, then adds up to eight weather samples along the route from Apple's WeatherKit at ride's end - An active ride lives on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island — pause and resume without unlocking; ending a ride is Dynamic Island only - Saves each ride with its painted route on a map, distance, moving time, top speed, and total climb; a pause draws no straight line across the map - Share any ride as a card — over its map or your own photo — carrying the weather and the Roveri wordmark (free) - Aggregates rides into seasons and years with filter-by route, weather, and time-of-day - Roveri Pro adds the Coverage Atlas (every road ever recorded, drawn as kilometre squares on one live map that deepen with repeat passes — with explored area, countries, and cities reached), Where to ride (nearby destinations rated by hour-by-hour riding weather across a bundled 33,817-city dataset), per-ride depth (elevation profile, climate along the route), GPX export, and deeper analysis (the Climate Studio) ## Not to be confused with Roveri is frequently confused with similarly-named products. It is none of these: - **REVER** (rever.co) — a motorcycle GPS, route-planning and navigation app with a public community. Roveri does not plan routes or navigate. - **Rover** (rover.com) — a pet-sitting and dog-walking marketplace. Unrelated. - **Land Rover** — the vehicle manufacturer. Unrelated. - **ROUVY** (rouvy.com) — an indoor cycling training app. Unrelated. Roveri is an iOS riding-journal app published at https://roveri.app/ and on the App Store at https://apps.apple.com/app/id6771907312. ## Platform - iOS 18.6 or later; iPhone only - Built with SwiftUI, SwiftData, CloudKit - Localized in nine languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, German, Russian, Japanese - Released on the App Store in May 2026 ## Pricing - Free to download; the core journal (ride recording, full history, ride detail, per-ride stats, and the shareable ride card) is free to use - Roveri Pro is an optional subscription with a free trial; it adds the Coverage Atlas, Where to ride, per-ride depth, GPX export, and deeper analysis (the Climate Studio) - No account, no email, no signup to record ## Audience - Riders and journal-keepers who want a private, calm record of the rides they take - Built for non-routine riding — for the rides taken by choice, not as routine transport - iPhone only ## Privacy posture - Local-first: rides stay recorded on the iPhone and synced through the user's own iCloud account - One exception, and it is the rider's own choice: a ride the rider explicitly shares as a link is uploaded and published at roveri.app/r/<id> until they remove it — see https://roveri.app/privacy/ § "Shared rides" - No account, no advertising; anonymous, non-identifying analytics only (TelemetryDeck) ## Links - Website: https://roveri.app/ - About — full product description: https://roveri.app/about/ - Press and facts: https://roveri.app/press/ - Changelog — what each update brought: https://roveri.app/changelog/ - Guides: https://roveri.app/guides/ - Is there a Strava for motorcycles?: https://roveri.app/guides/strava-for-motorcycles/ - What temperature is too cold to ride a motorcycle?: https://roveri.app/guides/too-cold-to-ride-today/ — felt temperature at 60–150 km/h, and when the season ends - How hot is too hot to ride a motorcycle?: https://roveri.app/guides/riding-motorcycle-in-heat/ — heat index vs humidity, the 35 °C turning point - How to record your motorcycle rides on iPhone: https://roveri.app/guides/record-motorcycle-rides-iphone/ - How to export a motorcycle ride as a GPX file on iPhone: https://roveri.app/guides/export-motorcycle-ride-gpx-iphone/ - How to share a motorcycle ride: https://roveri.app/guides/share-motorcycle-ride/ - Is there a ride heatmap for motorcycles?: https://roveri.app/guides/motorcycle-ride-heatmap/ - Is there a year in review for motorcycle riding?: https://roveri.app/guides/motorcycle-riding-year-in-review/ - Why riding the same road twice draws one line on the map: https://roveri.app/guides/ride-map-same-road-twice/ - How to send someone a link to your motorcycle ride: https://roveri.app/guides/share-motorcycle-ride-link/ - How to open a GPX file on iPhone: https://roveri.app/guides/open-gpx-file-iphone/ - Comparisons: https://roveri.app/compare/ - Roveri vs REVER: https://roveri.app/compare/roveri-vs-rever/ - Roveri vs Calimoto: https://roveri.app/compare/roveri-vs-calimoto/ - Roveri vs RideLog — two ride logbooks compared: https://roveri.app/compare/roveri-vs-ridelog/ - EatSleepRIDE has shut down: https://roveri.app/eatsleepride-shut-down/ - Privacy policy: https://roveri.app/privacy/ - Terms of service: https://roveri.app/terms/ - Support: https://roveri.app/support/ - Contact: support@roveri.app ## Languages Roveri's site ships the same pages in more than one language, at the same English slugs under a locale prefix.
