# siliXon
> siliXon turns a plain-English description of an electronic device into an editable printed circuit board (PCB) design built from real, purchasable components. It is made for anyone with an idea, not only engineers.
siliXon's assistant, Rocky, chats with you to clarify what the board should do. siliXon then chooses the components and their placement, draws the schematic and routes the board. You can review and edit the result in 2D and 3D: move parts, draw or remove traces, add vias, and revise the design through conversation. Every board must pass siliXon's engineering checks before you send it to manufacture, and you own the design and its manufacturing files.
siliXon is in early beta: it creates 2- and 4-layer boards and works best for mostly digital designs, with limited analogue capability. Check boards thoroughly before manufacturing.
