## Frequently asked questions
### What is Quip Network?
Quip Network is the worldwide quantum computer: an open marketplace where anyone can access quantum processors on demand, get paid to contribute compute, and build on the network. It is built by Postquant Labs. The same network also protects digital assets with post-quantum security, through Quip Accounts and QuipSwap.
### What can I do on Quip Network today?
Developers can model optimization problems in Python with XQuad and run them on the network, where quantum and classical hardware compete to return the best answer. Operators can contribute CPU, GPU or QPU capacity and earn for the work they do. Asset holders can open a Quip Account to protect funds with post-quantum signatures, and trade across chains on QuipSwap. Applications can request certified quantum randomness through QVRF.
### Does Quip Network only make quantum-resistant wallets?
Post-quantum accounts are one part of Quip Network. The core of the network is a marketplace for quantum compute, secured by proof of useful work, where buyers post jobs and quantum and classical hardware compete to solve them. Quip Accounts, QuipSwap and QVRF are products built on top of that network.
### Is Quip Network a blockchain?
Yes. Quip Network runs its own blockchain whose proof of useful work solves real optimization problems instead of arbitrary hashes. Its asset layer works on top of existing chains, including Ethereum, EVM L2s and Bitcoin L2s, to add post-quantum protection to assets where they already live.
### How do Quip Accounts protect assets from quantum computers?
Quip Network uses a suite of NIST-approved post-quantum signatures through its open-source pqhybridsign library, in a hybrid signing approach throughout: every post-quantum signature is paired with the chain's existing ECDSA or secp256k1 signature, so the security of the base system never degrades and the post-quantum protection is always additive. That makes it the most conservative way to upgrade a system to post-quantum cryptography. On Ethereum and other EVM networks, Quip Accounts are ERC-4337 compatible smart accounts whose account and verifier contracts were audited by Oak Security, with the report public. They use one of the only audited on-chain post-quantum hybrid signature verifiers, through the open-source ethereum-sdk, and they support WalletConnect and every dApp that works with smart accounts. Assets stay on the chain they already use, with no migration.
### Is Quip Network legit?
Quip Network is built by Postquant Labs, led by CEO Colton Dillion and CTO Dr. Richard Carback, both of whom are public. The code is open source, the contracts were audited by Oak Security with the full report published in September 2026, and the testnet has been open to anyone since April 2026.
### Is there a Quip Network airdrop or token sale?
Any airdrop, token sale or claim is announced only on quip.network and the official @quipnetwork account on X. Quip Network will never message you first, ask for your seed phrase or private key, or ask you to send funds in order to receive tokens. Treat any offer that does as a scam.
### What is proof of useful work?
Traditional proof of work spends energy on arbitrary hash grinding. Quip Network's proof of useful work secures the chain the same way, but the work itself is a structured compute job, such as an optimization problem, whose answer is also useful to a paying customer. Miners compete on real problems, and the network records which hardware wins.
### When will quantum computers break current cryptography?
Nobody knows for certain, but the trajectory is measurable. Quip Network estimates a roughly 10% probability of a cryptographically relevant quantum computer by March 2028, based on a line of best fit through publicly available specs across the major quantum platforms. Track the live estimate at quantumdoomclock.com.
