## What it does
- Plain words in, a finished task out. Type or dictate "mtng w boss tmrw 3pm" and it becomes "Meeting with boss", tomorrow at 3:00 PM. Days, times, repeats and reminders are figured out as you type, shorthand and typos included, and names stay as you wrote them.
- It never makes up a time. A day with no time lands on that day with no clock; a time that could mean two things comes with a one tap fix.
- Say It Out Loud, Pop Plans It. Say your day in one go, "groceries, milk, and pick up the kids from school, suggest me a time". Pop knows your week and the times you usually do things, so he picks times that fit, puts every task on a card, and adds nothing until you say yes. Hold ⌘⌃P on your Mac, or tap Talk to Pop on iPhone.
- Type Messy, PopTask Gets It. Type "gym tue thu 7:30 n sat mrng" and PopTask turns it into "Morning Gym, Weekly, 7:30 AM" with the repeat set. Dates, times and repeats, figured out as you type. Names stay intact, shorthand still works, and there are no formats to learn.
- It Learns How You Work. Not sure of a time? PopTask offers the likely ones, and one tap fixes it. Correct a time once and it remembers it for that kind of task, separately for weekdays and weekends. It learns your shorthand and your usual typos too.
- Big Task? Get the Steps. AI breaks a big task into steps in one tap. Tick them off as you go, or add your own right next to them.
- Works With Your Calendar. Google Calendar and Outlook sync both ways: move or delete an event and the task follows, add an event to your PopTask calendar and it becomes a task. Apple Reminders and Calendar too, and it all syncs across your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own iCloud.
- A Clearer Today. Your next task sits on top with Snooze and a live countdown. Overdue tasks get their own block, and the rest of your day follows in order.
- Watch Every Win Add Up. Finish your first task and PopTask marks the moment. From then on every day you finish something lights up a square, so the streak builds where you can see it.
- Open It Your Way. The menu bar icon opens the list or Pop's orb, your choice. Or click PopTask in your Dock and it opens as a window.
- On the Mac it lives in the menu bar: press ⌘⌃P from any app, type, press Return (hold ⌘⌃P to talk to Pop instead). It can also open as a window, with an optional Dock icon.
- On iPhone and iPad: Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, a Live Activity for the next task, Control Center, Siri, Shortcuts and the Share sheet.
- Notifications at the task's time and before it, a morning summary of what is due, and Complete or Snooze right from the notification.
## Who it suits
- People who think of tasks as sentences and dislike date pickers and forms.
- Mac users who want to capture a task from any app in a few seconds without switching windows.
- People who would rather talk their day through and have it planned for them (Pop).
- People who use Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Reminders and want tasks to sync both ways.
## Who it may not suit
- Teams: PopTask is a personal task manager, with no shared projects, assignments or comments.
- Windows, Android or web users.
- Anyone moving from Todoist or Things who needs an import: there is none yet, though Shortcuts and the Share sheet can send tasks in.
- Free users who keep more than 3 tasks open at once: that needs Pro.

## FAQ
### Can I add a task without leaving what I am doing?
Yes, that is the whole point. On the Mac press ⌘⌃P from any app (you can change it in Settings), type the task, and press Return. The keyboard does the rest too: Tab moves between the compose bar and Today, Later and Completed, the arrow keys pick a task, Space twice completes it, Delete removes it, Escape closes PopTask. On iPhone it is one tap from the Home Screen, a widget, Control Center or the Share sheet.
### Does it set up repeats from plain words?
Yes. "standup weekdays 9am", "gym mon wed fri 6am", "water plants every 3 days" and "call mom every sunday 7pm" all come out as repeating tasks, with the days and the time set. When you finish one, the next one is already on your list.
### What if I am vague, like "sometime next week"?
It never makes up a time. Give it a day with no time and the task lands on that day with no clock, one tap to add one. Say "sometime" or "at some point" and it saves the task with no date at all. When a time could mean two things, like "dentist friday at 10", it picks the likely one and shows the other as a one tap fix. It works from your words only: it does not read your screen or your other apps.
### Will it actually remind me?
Yes. Each task can remind you at its time and again before it, for example 1 hour and 5 minutes before, and you set your own default. You can complete or snooze straight from the notification, get a morning summary of what is due today, and keep a count of today and overdue tasks on the app icon or in the menu bar.
### Can I dictate in my language?
Dictation follows the language you set PopTask to, in any of its 9: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, Spanish, French, Japanese and Italian. Speech is recognized on your device, so it needs that language added for dictation in your Mac or iPhone keyboard settings. Typing works in all 9 too, times included the way each language writes them ("下午3点", "demain 15h", "alle 15"), plus Roman Urdu and Hindi.
### Who is Pop, and what does he cost?
Pop is PopTask's voice assistant, new in 3.0. Say your day in one go and he plans it with you: he knows your week and the times you usually do things, puts every task on a card, and adds nothing until you say yes. Hold ⌘⌃P or click his orb on your Mac, or tap Talk to Pop on iPhone and iPad. He is a separate subscription that includes everything in Pro: free for a week with 20 minutes, then $9.99 a month with 60 minutes.
### Does it work with my calendar and my other apps?
Google Calendar and Outlook sync both ways through a PopTask calendar: move an event and the task moves, delete it and the task goes, add an event there and it becomes a task. Apple Reminders syncs both ways too, and your tasks show up in Apple Calendar. There is no import from Todoist or Things yet, but Shortcuts and the Share sheet can send tasks in from almost anywhere.
### Is there a Windows or Android version?
No. PopTask is built natively for Mac, iPhone and iPad, and your tasks sync between them through your own iCloud.
### Is it really free, and does one purchase cover all my devices?
Yes to both. Free is forever, for up to 3 active tasks, with typing and dictation, calendar sync, repeats, reminders, AI steps, Siri and widgets included. Pro removes the limit and adds your own lists: $49.99 once, $14.99 a year, or $4.99 a month. Buy it once and it unlocks on your Mac, iPhone and iPad with the same Apple Account.
### Is my data private?
Your tasks live on your device and sync through your own iCloud, which I never see. No account, no tracking, no ads. For instant sync between your devices an encrypted snapshot passes through my server as ciphertext I can't read, and if a task needs the cloud AI only that text is sent, kept 90 seconds at most, never tied to you. Dictation stays on your device. Pop is the one exception, and only after you allow it: while Pop is open, your voice and upcoming tasks go to a third-party AI. They're never used for training.
### Something is not working. How do I reach you?
Write to support@poptask.bar or use the contact page. I build PopTask alone, and I read and answer every message myself. If the app crashes, a note of your macOS or iOS version helps a lot.
