## Processing and privacy
- The Mac app uses cloud speech recognition and text processing. It is not an offline transcription app.
- The [Privacy Policy](https://openbroca.com/privacy) describes audio processing, retained text and context, third-party processing, and account deletion.
- The browser tools have their own processing requirements. Their behavior should not be used to describe the Mac app's privacy or language support.
## Openbroca Origin
- Openbroca Origin is the official name of the early, experimental open-source implementation.
- It is Timothy Lau's personal open-source project.
- It is an Electron application for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- It supports configurable local and cloud speech recognition and multiple language-model providers.
- It is free, MIT-licensed, and continues to be maintained.
- Repository: [github.com/0xlau/openbroca](https://github.com/0xlau/openbroca)
- Openbroca Origin and the current native Swift app are completely separate codebases. They share history and a product idea, not code.
