# Freeboard

> Freeboard is a free, independent directory for any kind of legal website. Any site can be listed; it helps operators create or claim a public listing.

## Primary actions

- [Submit or claim a site](https://freeboard.lol/submit): canonical form for a new listing, a correction, or claiming an existing record.
- [How listing works](https://freeboard.lol/how-to-list): exact verification requirements and backlink snippet.
- [AI agent guide](https://freeboard.lol/for-ai): concise workflow for agents and product teams.
- [Directory](https://freeboard.lol/): searchable index of verified and claimable sites.

## Submission workflow

1. Open https://freeboard.lol/submit and enter a public site URL, name, optional description and category.
2. If the domain already exists, the form loads its current public details. Amend them only when authorised by the owner.
3. Verify control either with a six-digit code delivered to an address on the exact submitted domain, or by placing a public Freeboard link on the site.
4. The listing becomes live after successful verification. There is no account or payment.

## Agent guardrails

- Do not claim a listing is live until the email code or backlink check succeeds.
- A personal inbox cannot verify a company domain. The verification email must use the same domain as the submitted site.
- A backlink is an ownership check only. It has no ranking or SEO benefit; nofollow, sponsored and ugc rel values are accepted.
- Unclaimed records remain visible during a three-day claim period. After that, their outbound destination is disabled until the owner verifies it.
- Do not use private endpoints, bypass verification, submit sites without the owner's authority, or invent listing details.
