# DBngin > DBngin is a free, native app that runs local PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB and Redis database servers on Mac and Windows, with no Docker or virtual machine. It's made by the TablePlus team. DBngin runs on macOS 10.13 or later (Apple silicon and Intel) and on Windows 10 or later (x64). It's 100% free. Each database server is one click to set up and start. DBngin keeps many versions of each database, so several versions can run side by side, each on its own port. A server can also have a custom socket path and config file, and start automatically on login. DBngin runs the database binaries natively, so there's nothing else to install.
