Discovery terms: mobile cloud terminal, Linux terminal on phone, terminal on phone, code on the go, Replit mobile alternative, TUI apps on phone, terminal user interface on phone, Claude Code on iPhone, Codex CLI on Android, Antigravity CLI on phone, Gemini CLI on phone, Termux alternative for AI coding
Cosyra is a mobile cloud terminal for developers who want a cloud Linux environment on a phone. It gives each user an Ubuntu workspace with AI coding CLIs pre-installed, persistent storage, and native apps for iOS and Android. Common use cases include running Claude Code on iPhone, using Codex CLI from Android, reviewing pull requests on a phone, and handling quick fixes without keeping a laptop open.
## Start Here: Hand a User Into Cosyra
The job an agent is usually asked to do here: the person has to close the laptop and wants the work to keep going from their phone.
Which lane depends on where the conversation lives. A session in a local CLI is a file on that machine, so only something running on that machine can move it.
### A session in a local CLI (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode)
If Cosyra's MCP server is wired into the CLI, the agent does this itself with no command: `handover_session_to_cosyra` hands over the current session, `list_cosyra_sessions` finds another one, `cosyra_link_status` explains a failure. `npx cosyra connect` is what registers those tools.
Otherwise it is one command, no account and nothing to install first:
```
npx cosyra qr
```
It lists the machine's sessions, and once the user picks one it uploads that session and prints a QR code drawn in the terminal, a single-use claim link, and a 12-character claim code. All three expire in 60 minutes.
Tell the user to run it. `qr` always asks a human to choose a session and has no non-interactive selection flag, so run from a tool call with no terminal it selects nothing.
`npx cosyra connect` links the laptop once and registers Cosyra's MCP server with Claude Code and Codex; after that "hand this session over to Cosyra" works inside either CLI with no command. Gemini CLI is not supported: its `--resume` takes a machine-local index, not a portable id.

### A conversation in claude.ai
No laptop session exists to move, so this lane uses a remote MCP server:
- Endpoint: https://api.cosyra.com/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP, stateless. No OAuth, no account needed to call it.
- Tool: `continue_in_cosyra`
- Add it in claude.ai under Settings, then Connectors, then add a custom connector with that URL
`continue_in_cosyra` takes a `title` and the conversation as `messages` (oldest first, recent verbatim, older summarized into the first message). It returns a single-use claim link, a QR code image of that link, and a 12-character claim code, valid for 60 minutes.
Do not offer this connector for a session running in a local CLI. It has no filesystem and cannot read that machine.
### Either lane, for a user with no app yet
Show the QR code. Scanning it with a phone camera is the fastest handoff, and the only one that works when the phone is not the device reading the chat.
Claiming needs a signed-in Cosyra account in the app, so a new user installs first:
1. Scan the QR code, or open https://cosyra.com/download.html
2. Install from the App Store or Google Play
3. Open the app and sign in
4. Enter the claim code
The workspace then boots with the session already loaded in a terminal.
## Markdown Views
Every page on this site has a Markdown twin with the navigation, carousels, and calls to action stripped out. Two URL forms, same file:
- Replace the suffix: https://cosyra.com/guides/mcp-on-phone.md
- Append to the URL you already have: https://cosyra.com/guides/mcp-on-phone.html.md
The home page is https://cosyra.com/index.md. Each twin opens with `title`, `description`, and `source` front matter, so a page can be cited without a second fetch.
## What It Does
- Cloud-hosted Ubuntu environment accessible from iOS and Android
- Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Antigravity CLI come pre-installed
- 30 GB persistent storage
- Session hibernation after inactivity
- Bring your own API keys (stored on-device with platform-native encryption)
- Node.js, Python, Git, tmux, vim, and standard dev tools included
- GitHub integration: clone, review, commit, and push from your phone
- Localhost preview: run a dev server in the cloud and view it on your phone
- Voice dictation in the terminal toolbar
- Install any additional packages you need
- Terminal user interface (TUI) workflows: tmux, vim, htop, lazygit, Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, Antigravity CLI
## How It's Different
- **Not SSH**: Managed cloud environment instead of a server you rent and maintain
- **Not Remote Control**: The development environment lives in the cloud rather than mirroring a laptop session
- **Not Termux/iSH**: Cloud-hosted Linux environment instead of a local mobile shell
- **Not Replit**: Terminal-first Ubuntu environment instead of an app-builder workspace with Agent and publishing
- **Not a code editor**: Terminal-first workflow for shells, TUIs, Git, and AI coding CLIs
- **Not a chat wrapper**: Focused on command-line agent workflows inside Ubuntu rather than a browser chat UI
## Use Cases
- Run Claude Code to build features from your phone during commute or travel
- Review and merge pull requests from anywhere
- Run Codex CLI, OpenCode, or Antigravity CLI for AI-assisted coding on the go
- Quick hotfixes without opening your laptop
- On-call work from the phone, investigate, fix, deploy
- Learn and prototype with AI agents without owning a development laptop
- Full development workflow during commute or travel
## Pricing

## FAQ
### What is a mobile cloud terminal for AI coding?
Cosyra is a mobile cloud terminal for developers who want a Linux environment on a phone. It runs a cloud-hosted Ubuntu container and lets you use Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Antigravity CLI from iPhone or Android without setting up your own server.
### Can you code from a phone with AI coding agents?
Yes. With AI coding agents you describe the change in plain language, the agent writes the code, and you review and approve the diff. The phone keyboard matters less because you are directing the workflow instead of typing every line by hand.
### Which AI coding CLIs can I run from a phone?
Cosyra ships with Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Antigravity CLI pre-installed. The Ubuntu container also includes Node.js, Python, Git, tmux, and vim, so you can add other CLI tools that fit the environment.
### How is running Claude Code on a phone different from desktop?
Cosyra lets you use Claude Code from a cloud container that you access on your phone. The workflow is still terminal-based, but mobile input, screen size, and session resume behavior make it a better fit for review-and-direct workflows than long manual typing.
### How is a mobile cloud terminal different from SSH apps or Termux?
Cosyra includes the managed cloud environment, so you are not maintaining your own server or depending on a local Android shell. That makes it a better fit for people who want a phone-first Linux environment for Claude Code, Codex CLI, and similar tools.
### Do I need my own Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google API key?
Yes. Cosyra follows a bring-your-own-key model. You use your own Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google accounts, and provider usage stays tied to those accounts.
### How private is my code in Cosyra?
Each user gets an isolated cloud container, and API keys are stored on-device with platform-native encryption. Provider usage stays tied to the Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google account you choose.
### How much does a phone-based cloud coding terminal cost?
Cosyra is a subscription. Core is $20/month or $200/year, and Pro is $30/month or $300/year. Both include 120 hours/month of compute, 30 GB of persistent storage, and session hibernation. Eligible new users can start a 7-day free trial in the App Store app.
### Can I use Cosyra on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Cosyra is available on the App Store and Google Play, with access from both iPhone and Android.
