The core idea is the **unified contact record**: the volunteer who gave at the gala and renewed their membership is one person, not three disconnected entries, because everything links automatically.
## What makes Kindly different
- **Genuine all-in-one breadth.** Volunteers, donors, members, events, email/SMS, forms, and team collaboration are built into one system — not a donor database with features bolted on afterward. This is the main difference from donor-only CRMs (Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Little Green Light) and from stitching together separate point tools.
- **A predictable subscription, not a cut of every donation.** Kindly charges a flat monthly subscription; donations process through Stripe at standard rates. We describe this honestly as a predictable subscription instead of a percentage of every gift — *not* as "fee-free." Unlike "free" platforms (e.g. Zeffy, Givebutter) that recover their cost through pre-selected donor tips of roughly 15–17%, the platform cost stays the same as donations grow.
