# Foyer

> Foyer is a small ambient-sound app for Mac and iPhone (a universal app — one
> purchase unlocks both). Each sound is placed around you in a visual room — a
> crackling hearth, a fountain, birdsong, rain — rendered in true binaural. The room is the mixer: drag a
> sound close and it swells, push it to the edge and it fades; left or right sets
> the pan. Foyer lives in your menu bar, so you can play, pause, and switch
> rooms without a window in the way.

- Platform: macOS 14 or later, and iPhone on iOS 17 or later (App Store). Universal app — one purchase unlocks Mac and iPhone.
- Pricing: free to download with up to three simultaneous sounds and five saved
  rooms. A one-time unlock adds unlimited sounds in every room, and unlimited
  rooms. No subscription.
- How it works: position sounds as orbs on a canvas around you; their location
  sets volume (distance) and direction (pan). Best with headphones.
- Rooms: keep several rooms (e.g. a dim office to wind down, a bright one to
  focus, a workshop) and switch between them; each remembers where every sound
  was left.
- Sounds: ambient recordings, looped for continuous playback.
- Privacy: no account or ad tracking. RevenueCat processes anonymous App Store purchase history for the unlock; the website uses cookieless PostHog analytics.
