# Timesact

> Timesact is a no-code pre-order and back-in-stock app for Shopify, certified Built for Shopify and used by 19,000+ merchants. It turns sold-out and not-yet-launched products into revenue with pre-orders, restock alerts and coming-soon pages, set up in the app without theme code.

timesact.com is the marketing site and live demo for the app. The products on this site are demo experiences that show each feature on a real storefront; they are not goods for sale.

## How it works

- Everything is configured in a reusable customer experience template (button, message, badge, cart label, collection page, functionality settings, notifications), then attached to products or variants. Configuration is per variant.
- Functionality: Pre-order, Backorder, Made to Order, Back in Stock, Notify Me, Waitlist, Coming Soon, Low Stock, and Hide Sold Out (store-wide, via the add-on). Pre-order and Coming Soon cannot be combined on one variant.
- When a pre-order shows: only when out of stock, always whatever the stock level, or only while Shopify stock lasts, plus optional start and end dates and a per-variant pre-order limit. Shopify inventory stays the source of truth.
- Payment: the full amount at checkout, or a split payment (a first charge at checkout, which can be 0, and the rest on a set date or a set time after checkout; on the PRO plan also when the order is fulfilled). Split payment is not buy-now-pay-later.
- Notifications: built-in email, SMS for back-in-stock alerts (paid per message), Klaviyo, and Shopify Flow. Email copy is one version for the whole store.
- Orders with a pre-order item are tagged `Pre-order`; mixed orders also get `Partial Pre-order`.
- Analytics tab: pre-order sales and revenue, top pre-ordered products, email delivery, opens and clicks, and Notify Me trends and purchase conversion. CORE plans keep 30 days of history, PRO is unlimited.
- Storefront text is translated with Shopify Translate & Adapt or langify (one app per language).
- Setup includes enabling the Timesact app embed in the Shopify theme editor and saving the theme.

## What Timesact does not do

- No push notifications.
- No pre-order terms outside the Online Store: not in Shopify POS, Draft Orders, the Shop app, social shops, Google Merchant Center or external Buy Buttons.
- No virtual inventory: Shopify inventory is the source of truth.
- No pre-order and subscription on the same item.
- With split payments or a pre-order discount, Shopify's purchase option does not carry gift cards, Buy X Get Y, native bundles, B2B checkout, or Klarna/Afterpay-style installments. A mode without the purchase option allows them, with full payment only.
