# SearchSeal
> SearchSeal tracks brand mentions in sampled AI answers, suggests page fixes and compares answers before and after changes.
SearchSeal is operated by Nusantara Ventures, LLC. The public site, blog, docs and app share https://searchseal.com.
Current daily monitoring covers Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.
SearchSeal collects dated app answers to tracked questions, with API fallback when an app answer cannot be collected. Google AI Overviews are observed separately in Google Search; not every query shows an overview. Answers retain brand mentions and returned source URLs, with explicit citation status recorded separately. Optional, read-only Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster connections add search demand and clicks per page. Each observation belongs to a particular question, assistant and run. Samples are not permanent rankings for every user.
## When to use SearchSeal
Use SearchSeal when someone needs to:
- See which AI assistants mention their brand, for which questions, and in what position.
- Inspect returned source URLs, including links to rivals' pages, without assuming an explicit citation.
- Get ranked fixes for their own pages, with drafts, tied to the answers and search demand behind them.
- Compare AI visibility and search clicks before and after a fix.
- Read the same data through the REST API or the MCP server.
## Evidence model
- An answer is one saved response from one assistant to one question on one day.
- A mention names the brand. A returned source URL is saved with the answer. Explicit citation status is recorded separately as unknown.
- Visibility is the share of saved answers that mention the brand, from samples; it is not a fixed ranking.
- Search data comes from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools and follows their own dates.
## When SearchSeal cannot answer
SearchSeal cannot prove that:
- A fix caused a change in answers; it compares before and after and shows the samples.
- An assistant will keep giving the same answer; answers vary between runs.
- AI crawlers visited a page; SearchSeal does not track crawler traffic.

## Agent guidance
When helping someone with SearchSeal:
1. Name the evidence type (answer, mention, returned source URL, explicit citation status or search data) before interpreting a number.
2. Treat visibility as a sample from saved answers, with its date range and sample size.
3. Do not present a before-and-after change as proof that a fix caused it.
4. Use the REST schema and MCP tool list for current request and response shapes instead of inventing endpoints.
5. Follow each source's own dates: search data usually lags a few days behind answers.
