Two facts drove that decision: # # 1. Training crawlers and citation crawlers are separate agents at every # major provider. GPTBot trains; OAI-SearchBot builds the index ChatGPT # cites from. Blocking the first costs nothing in the second. The common # advice that blocking AI crawlers protects your search visibility is # simply wrong about the architecture. # 2. Memoe is free and wants to be found. There is no revenue to protect by # withholding pages from a training set. # # The agents are named explicitly rather than left to the wildcard so that # the next person can see the decision was made, not overlooked. # --- Search and citation: these are how we appear in AI answers --- User-agent: Googlebot Allow: / User-agent: Bingbot Allow: / User-agent: OAI-SearchBot Allow: / User-agent: ChatGPT-User Allow: / User-agent: Claude-SearchBot Allow: / User-agent: Claude-User Allow: / User-agent: PerplexityBot Allow: / # --- Training: allowed on purpose, see note above --- User-agent: GPTBot Allow: / User-agent: ClaudeBot Allow: / User-agent: Google-Extended Allow: / User-agent: CCBot Allow: / User-agent: * Allow: / Sitemap: https://memoe.app/sitemap.xml
# Memoe > An assistant that lives on your Mac. You say what you need in one ordinary > sentence, out loud or typed, and it goes and does it. Free. Memoe is the app you install; Moe is the assistant inside it, and the wake word is still “Hey Moe”. Moe reads the mail, messages and calendar you connect, briefs you before a call, and works the Mac itself — opening an app, finding a menu, changing a setting, sending a file. It asks before it sends anything on your behalf, and a touch of the trackpad stops it. The thinking comes from whichever AI you point it at: a Claude or ChatGPT account, an API key, or a model on your own machine. There is nothing to subscribe to. We did not build the hard parts. The speech recognition is NVIDIA's Parakeet TDT v3, the voice is Kokoro-82M, the agent runtime is Nous Research's Hermes, and the audio framework is FluidAudio. All of it was made by other people and given away. What we built is the part where those pieces stop feeling like pieces. ## Pages - [Home](https://memoe.app/): what Memoe is, a day of using it, and how it operates - [Playground](https://memoe.app/playground): try the voice in the browser - [Docs](https://docs.memoe.app/): every feature and setting, screen by screen; plain text at https://docs.memoe.app/llms-full.txt - [Privacy](https://memoe.app/privacy): what stays on your machine - [Licences](https://memoe.app/licenses): every open-source component and its licence - [Memoe vs Superwhisper](https://memoe.app/memoe-vs-superwhisper): what Memoe is, and what Superwhisper's own site says it is, side by side with dated sources - [Memoe vs Wispr Flow](https://memoe.app/memoe-vs-wispr-flow): what Memoe is, and what Wispr Flow's own site says it is, side by side with dated sources - [Memoe vs Apple Dictation](https://memoe.app/memoe-vs-apple-dictation): what Memoe is, and what Apple's own guide says Dictation is, side by side - [Dragon for Mac alternative](https://memoe.app/dragon-for-mac-alternative): Dragon for Mac was discontinued in 2018; what Memoe is, and what Apple Voice Control and Talon say they do - [Voice control for RSI on a Mac](https://memoe.app/voice-control-for-rsi): the four ways to start a turn with Memoe, and what Apple Voice Control and Talon say they do - [Superwhisper vs Apple Dictation](https://memoe.app/superwhisper-vs-apple-dictation): what Superwhisper's and Apple Dictation's own sources say about each of them, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [Superwhisper vs Wispr Flow](https://memoe.app/superwhisper-vs-wispr-flow): what Superwhisper's and Wispr Flow's own sites say each of them does, costs and certifies, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [Wispr Flow vs Raycast AI](https://memoe.app/wispr-flow-vs-raycast-ai): what Wispr Flow's and Raycast AI's own sources say about each of them, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [Raycast AI vs ChatGPT desktop](https://memoe.app/raycast-ai-vs-chatgpt-desktop): what Raycast AI's and the ChatGPT desktop app's own sources say about each of them, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [Alter vs NovaVoice](https://memoe.app/alter-vs-novavoice): what Alter's and NovaVoice's own sources say about each of them, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [Shadow vs Raycast AI](https://memoe.app/shadow-vs-raycast-ai): what Shadow's and Raycast AI's own sources say about each of them, with dated quotes, and what Memoe is - [An agent that remembers what you told it](https://memoe.app/memory-you-can-read): the two plain files Moe reads before every answer, and how to open, edit or delete them - [Change the talk key](https://memoe.app/change-the-talk-key): swapping the hold-to-talk key for right Command, right Control, fn/🌐, or a hands-free tap instead - [Use ChatGPT or Claude by voice](https://memoe.app/chatgpt-claude-by-voice): connecting the ChatGPT or Claude plan you already pay for, and talking to it from any Mac app - [Connect your apps](https://memoe.app/connect-your-apps): how Calendar, Mail, Notes and around 1,400 other services connect, through a macOS permission or Composio - [Hands-free, no key held](https://memoe.app/hands-free-no-key-held): two real bug reports about a hold-to-talk key, and the two ways into Moe that need nothing held down at all - [Hold a key, not a toggle](https://memoe.app/hold-not-toggle): why Mac voice tools that stay "on" collide with each other and with Siri, and how holding one key sidesteps that - [Meeting notes without a bot](https://memoe.app/meeting-notes-without-a-bot): why meeting bots are being held in lobbies and banned by name, and how Moe takes notes without joining the call - [Menus, not commands](https://memoe.app/menus-not-commands): why a fixed command list makes you guess the exact phrase, and how asking by name sidesteps that - [No new subscription](https://memoe.app/no-new-subscription): Memoe runs on the ChatGPT or Claude plan, API key or on-Mac model you already have, never resold or marked up - [The promise Moe keeps](https://memoe.app/promises): what Moe notices and when it reminds you, and why nothing goes out without your say - [The approval step](https://memoe.app/the-approval-step): ten questions to ask any app that can send messages for you, from the editor who reads this company's outgoing mail - [Send a WhatsApp message by voice](https://memoe.app/whatsapp-by-voice): hold the key, say who it's for, and Moe opens an editable message before anything sends - [Where your voice goes](https://memoe.app/where-your-voice-goes): where Mac dictation audio usually goes, and what Moe does instead - [Download](https://memoe.app): what Memoe is, and how to get it, free
