Halo is made by Otabek Abdiraimov, an indie developer who also makes Shedi, a Mac cleaner for developers. Halo has no account. Notifications and agent status are read on the Mac and never leave it. Optional network use: update checks, lyrics lookups on LRCLIB (title and artist only), Groq for Whisper dictation with the user's own key, license activation with Lemon Squeezy, and anonymous usage counts the user can turn off.
