## Features
- Instant access, anywhere: Rest your pointer on the screen edge or hit the global shortcut. The panel is over your work before you finish the thought — no window management, no app switch.
- A real editor, not a scratchpad: Slash commands, headings, task lists, syntax-highlighted code blocks, inline images, colour and highlight. Your notes keep the structure your work has. Note content is stored as Markdown in a local database. Export it as .md files to use in other editors.
- Reminders that live inside the note: Set a reminder on a note — or on the exact sentence you selected. Overdue, today, upcoming and completed group into their own tab. Repeat daily or weekly, snooze straight from the notification, and click through to land back on the highlighted line.
- To-dos with a status, not just a tick box: Type /todo for a list whose lines carry a stage — backlog, in progress, in review, done — each with its own colour and icon. Click the icon to move a line along. Add statuses of your own in Settings, and they follow you to iPhone. The stage is stored in the note itself as plain text, so it travels with the file.
- Tags that cut across folders: Tag a note as you write, with autocomplete against the tags you already use so “meeting” doesn’t quietly become three. Filter by one tag or several at once — the list flattens across every folder, and each tag can carry a colour.
- Files live inside the note: Drop in a PDF, a zip, a design file — anything, up to 50 MB each. The file is copied into the note rather than linked to a path, so it is still there when the note reaches your other Mac, and when the original moves or gets deleted. Click a file to open it in its usual app; right-click to save a copy anywhere. Files come along when you export, in an assets folder next to the note.
- Take a note anywhere: Export a note, a quick page, a folder or your whole library as PDF, Markdown or plain text. PDFs are paginated and searchable. Markdown export creates .md files, copies images and attachments into an assets folder, and updates their links.
- Tables that survive the paste: Paste a table from a page or a document and it stays a table. Edit any cell, add rows and columns from the edge handles, delete them with a right-click, and drag the whole table somewhere else in the note. It is stored as plain Markdown.
- Emoji without leaving the keyboard: Start typing :fire and pick from the suggestions, or open the /emoji picker and search. It works in headings and anywhere else you are typing.
- Folders you can actually drag into: Create a note straight inside a folder from the folder’s context menu, or drag an existing note into it. The note shows its folder above the editor. Folders are flat; tags let you filter across them.
- The same notes on Mac and iPhone: Turn on iCloud sync on both devices to keep notes, folders, task statuses and reminders in your own iCloud account. Nothing passes through our servers. You can also write offline and sync when connected again.
- Lock a note behind a password: Some notes shouldn’t be readable by whoever opens your Mac. Lock one and its text, tags and attachments are encrypted with a key derived from your password — the plain text is deleted from disk, not just hidden from the list. Touch ID reopens it in a second; the vault closes again when your screen locks or after a few idle minutes.
- Native and light: A menu-bar app with a true vibrancy surface that follows system appearance. It feels like part of macOS because it is — no browser engine idling in your dock.
- Markdown underneath: Note content is stored as Markdown in a local database. Export it as .md files to use in other editors.
- A note on your desktop: Put a note in Notification Center and read it without opening anything. Pick the pinned note, the most recent one, a specific note or a quick-notes page — then click the widget and Flyout opens right there.
- Your notes, on iPhone and iPad.: Open your Mac notes on iPhone or iPad. Use the same Apple Account and turn on iCloud sync in Flyout on each device. The web license covers Mac, iPhone and iPad.
- Works offline, private by default: No account to use the app, and nothing leaves your Mac unless you turn on iCloud sync yourself — it is off by default.
- Named themes: Themes beyond the system Light/Dark pair. A named theme keeps its own colours even when macOS switches appearance.
- Per-note paper colours: Thirty-eight colours grouped by family, plus a custom colour you pick yourself. The coloured sheet ignores whichever app theme is active.
- Use your notes with Codex or Claude: Pair a local agent connection in Flyout, let it use all notes or only the folders you choose, and approve each deletion in the app. Access is off until you enable it.
