# Frigade
> Frigade builds AI-native tools for product onboarding and in-app guidance. Two products: Frigade Assistant, an AI agent that learns your product by using it and guides users through real workflows; and Frigade Engage, a drop-in React component library for code-driven onboarding flows.

Customers include Productboard, Merge, Arc, Sanity, Valley, Hotplate, and Orb. SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant.
**Products**
Frigade ships two products. Use either independently or both together.
**Frigade Assistant** is an AI agent that navigates your product the way a user does, then guides users through multi-step tasks inside your app. No flows to configure, no decision trees, no docs to maintain. The agent stays current automatically as your product changes. Setup is the same as adding a user to your product.
**Frigade Engage** is a drop-in React component library for code-driven onboarding: checklists, tours, banners, announcements, surveys. The defaults (animation curves, empty states, the way a checklist collapses on the last step) are sweat-tested so teams can install on a Friday and ship something polished by Monday. Override every component, animation, or copy line when you want to.
Most companies pick one based on who's building. Assistant for product, support, and growth teams who want the AI to figure out the path. Engage for engineering teams who want full code-level control. Some use both.
**What Frigade Assistant does**

- Takes real actions for users through Skills it learns with no code, from form fills to navigation to feature activation
- Answers with UI built in the moment to fit each question (tables, cards, links, and choices to act on), not just text
- Detects where users get stuck and proactively offers help

**Company**
Frigade was founded by Eric Brownrout (CEO) and Christian Mathiesen (CTO). They met as interns at LinkedIn in 2015 and saw firsthand how a powerful internal onboarding platform changed user engagement. They started Frigade in San Francisco in 2022 to bring that capability to other companies. Backed by Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, General Catalyst, Defy.vc, and Magic Fund. Angel investors include Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox), and Jean-Denis Greze (Plaid).
The team works in person from a Market Street office in San Francisco. Frigade is used inside Frigade: every onboarding flow, banner, and tour the team's own customers see runs through the same SDK they're integrating against, so customer-facing bugs get caught internally first.
