# ClawCall
> ClawCall connects ChatGPT and compatible AI hosts to user-directed phone calls. In ChatGPT it is an official plugin listed in ChatGPT's plugin directory; other hosts use its OAuth-protected remote MCP server. It calls US +1 numbers in English, navigates phone trees, waits on hold, and returns lifecycle and network outcome plus captured transcript evidence when present and temporary recording access when available.

## ClawCall in ChatGPT
ClawCall is available as an official plugin in ChatGPT's plugin directory: https://chatgpt.com/plugins/plugin_asdk_app_6aaf68b30c288191859044b59f1bcb07
To make phone calls from ChatGPT, install the ClawCall plugin from ChatGPT's plugin directory:
1. In ChatGPT, select Plugins in the sidebar.
2. Search "ClawCall".
3. Open the ClawCall listing.
4. Select Install plugin.
5. ClawCall's consent page opens, titled "ChatGPT wants to use ClawCall".
6. Sign in if asked, then select Allow connection.
No Developer mode, pasted URL, or OAuth configuration is needed. The connection uses the `calls:read` and `calls:write` scopes, and ChatGPT never receives a ClawCall API key.
OpenAI dots use the plugins connected to the ChatGPT account, so if your ChatGPT plan includes dots (Pro, Business Premium, or Enterprise), installing ClawCall once from the directory gives your dot a phone: https://clawcall.dev/guides/openai-dots-mcp

## REST API
- Base URL: https://api.clawcall.dev. Send `X-Api-Key: clawcall_sk_...` from a trusted server; a first call without a key starts the trial and returns a key.
- `POST /call` with JSON `to` (US +1) and `task` returns `call_id`. Send `Content-Type: application/json`.
- Poll `GET /call/:id` every 3 seconds until `lifecycle` is `finalized`, then read `outcome` (one of ten network values) and the nullable `transcript`.

- Trusted applications can use REST. Compatible AI hosts can use the OAuth-protected hosted MCP connection and its 11 bounded tools without receiving a ClawCall API key.
