# ABC Dinamo

> ABC Dinamo is an independent type foundry designing and publishing retail and custom typefaces for digital and print use.

## About

Dinamo is a Swiss type design studio founded in 2013 by Johannes Breyer and Fabian Harb. The studio received the Swiss Design Award in 2016, and both co-founders have been members of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) since 2018.

The Dinamo type library spans grotesques, serifs, display faces, variable fonts, experimental systems, and custom commissions, used by leading brands, cultural institutions, publishers, fashion houses, artists, and technology companies worldwide.

Alongside the retail library, Dinamo collaborates with clients across art, culture, fashion, technology, and commerce. The [Client Work](https://abcdinamo.com/custom) page highlights collaborations ranging from custom typefaces and tailored modifications to multiscript systems, plugins, tools, and logo design.

Beyond type design, Dinamo publishes books through its imprint [Dinamo Editions](https://editions.abcdinamo.com), produces physical objects as [Dinamo Hardware](https://abcdinamo.com/hardware), and hosts a music show called [foNTS](https://www.nts.live/shows/fonts) on London-based NTS Radio.

Under the name “Dinamo Darkroom”, Dinamo makes software developed in-house available to fellow designers. The most popular is [Font Gauntlet](https://fontgauntlet.com), a tool for proofing, generating, and animating variable fonts.

Dinamo shares ideas and behind-the-scenes insights through its [newsletter](https://abcdinamo.com/newsletter), and the team regularly [lectures and leads workshops](https://abcdinamo.com/events) at institutions worldwide.

## Font Customizer

Every ABC Dinamo typeface includes a large number of character variants — alternate letterforms, punctuation styles, and other design options that adjust the tone of the typeface for a specific project.

With the [Font Customizer](https://abcdinamo.com/font-customizer), available at checkout, buyers can select which character variants become their font’s defaults and give the font a personalized name that appears across all design applications — making it simple to distribute a custom font internally and ensure everyone in a company uses the right one. Custom font files are generated instantly.

Settings always stay editable: license holders can log in to their User Area at any time to swap punctuation styles, change variants, or rename the font, and download updated files.
