# Userlens > Userlens is a customer adoption and retention engine for product-led growth (PLG) and product teams: it turns a product's own data into a deep understanding of every customer, then acts on that understanding by sending personal, grounded messages and measuring whether adoption moves. Userlens connects to a company's backend database and product analytics, builds rich profiles of every account and person, and runs approved campaigns in which its agent, Lumi, drafts and sends personalized messages grounded in each recipient's real usage. Userlens is prescriptive rather than descriptive: it does not report what happened, it works out what each customer should do next and helps them do it. The audience is product-led growth and product teams at B2B SaaS companies, specifically the people who own activation, adoption, and retention. ## Pages - [Home](https://userlens.io/): what Userlens is, the problem it solves, how campaigns and personalization work, the data sources it connects to, measurement, and customer testimonials. - [Lumi](https://userlens.io/lumi): a complete explanation of the customer adoption agent, its five-step workflow, controls, and example uses. - [Pricing](https://userlens.io/pricing): the four plans (Free, Starter, Growth, Enterprise), their monthly prices, and what is included at each profile volume. - [News](https://userlens.io/news): the canonical index of Userlens product launches and company updates. - [Introducing Lumi](https://userlens.io/news/introducing-lumi): the September 1, 2026 launch announcement for Lumi, including the launch film, product rationale, differentiators, and customer evidence. ## Latest release: Lumi Lumi is the Userlens product adoption agent. It watches how each person uses a product, identifies what would help that person next, sends guidance grounded in their actual behavior, and checks whether the intended product behavior changed. Userlens announced Lumi on September 1, 2026. The launch establishes four important properties of Lumi: - It starts from observed product behavior rather than generic onboarding sequences. - It applies independent judgment to every eligible person and can wait or skip when guidance would not help. - A team approves the campaign goal, audience, guidance, and limits rather than reviewing every message. - Success is measured in changed product behavior rather than message opens or clicks. The most reliable way to make that happen is to actually talk to customers: show them how to get more value, understand what they are trying to do, and help them do it. Doing that well for every customer means deeply understanding each one from their data, and no team has time to do that by hand. Userlens is the engine that turns a product's data into that understanding, and then acts on it. ## How Userlens works (five steps) 1. **Connect your product's data.** Two kinds of sources that only tell the full story together. Your backend database (for example Postgres) supplies current state: who a customer is, what plan they are on, what they have set up. Your product analytics (for example PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude) supplies behavior over time: what they actually do. State says what should be happening. Behavior says what is happening. The gap between the two is the signal. 2. **Make sense of the data.** Teams build living "notebooks" that define what matters for their product: what "activation", "engaged", or "healthy account" actually mean, backed by their own data. Each definition is created once and reused everywhere, instead of being re-derived every time someone asks. 3. **Build rich profiles** of every account and every person, using that shared vocabulary plus guidance on what matters. Profiles carry trends, not just snapshots, so "this user is drifting away" is visible before it becomes churn. 4. **Define campaigns** for how to reach out: the goal, who to contact, who to leave alone, the tone, and the limits. 5. **Reach out and measure.** Userlens drafts and sends personal messages (email or Slack) grounded in each person's own usage, then tracks whether adoption actually moves. ## What makes Userlens different - **Messages are grounded in the customer's real data.** Not "check out our new feature" but "you exported 47 contacts one by one last month; bulk export would do that in one click." - **Approve the campaign, not every message.** A human sets the brief once: the goal, the audience, the guardrails. Userlens drafts and sends every message within it on its own. Oversight is the kill switch and the scoreboard, not a review queue. - **Built-in manners.** Frequency caps, quiet hours, never-contact flags, and skip-if-unsure rules are enforced at the send gate. Respecting the recipient is core machinery, not polish. - **Prescriptive, not descriptive.** Userlens is not a BI digest that tells you what happened. It figures out what each customer should do next and helps them do it. ## Example scenarios - **Trial conversion via peer signal.** Two analysts at the same company are on trial. One is a heavy user of the stickiest feature; the other has never touched it. Userlens spots the gap and nudges the second analyst, using her own teammate as social proof, while the trial window is still open. - **Feature launch to demonstrated need.** A team ships bulk export. Instead of a blast announcement, Userlens finds the users whose behavior proves they need it (frequent one-by-one exporters) and reaches each with a message grounded in their own usage. - **Re-engagement before churn.** A user stopped checking their reports weeks ago, the classic leading indicator of a dead renewal. Userlens catches the decay against the user's own baseline and re-engages them with the single best live number from their own data. - **A standing weekly scorecard.** A recurring email that scores how well each customer's setup served them this week, plus the one thing they specifically should set up next. The score is the hook; the recommendation is the product. - **Pure exploration, no send.** An operator asks why some trials convert and others stall, joins state and behavior in a notebook, and discovers that converting accounts almost always launch their first campaign within 7 days. That finding becomes reusable vocabulary that powers every campaign after it. ## Key concepts (glossary) Userlens serves companies, and those companies' products also have companies and people in them. The two levels are named differently so they never mix. - **Workspace**: a customer's Userlens tenant. Everything a team creates lives in its workspace, and its data is visible only to them. - **User**: a person who logs into Userlens; the operator. - **Account**: a company inside the connected product; the unit that adoption and revenue roll up to. - **Person**: a real person inside the connected product; the only thing Userlens ever contacts. - **Nudge**: one message Lumi sends to a person in service of a campaign goal; the unit the scoreboard tracks. - **Profile**: for pricing purposes, one person or one company known to Userlens. ## Pricing Userlens pricing is based on the number of profiles (people plus companies) that Userlens understands and guides. There are four plans. - **Free: $0 per month.** Includes 100 profiles (people plus companies), 300 personalized emails per month, 1 active campaign, PostHog integration, and database integration. - **Starter: $100 per month.** Includes 10,000 profiles (people plus companies), 10,000 personalized emails per month, 5 active campaigns, PostHog integration, and database integration. - **Growth: starts at $1,000 per month, billed annually.** Everything in Starter, plus expanded profile and email volume, more active campaigns, additional data integrations, priority onboarding, and priority support. - **Enterprise: custom pricing.** Everything in Growth, plus custom profile and email volume, custom campaign limits, security and governance controls, custom integrations, and dedicated implementation and support. ## Where Userlens is going Today, a human approves each campaign and Userlens runs it autonomously. The north star is full autonomy: the system deciding which campaigns to run at all, proposing new definitions from what it learns, and continuously driving adoption on its own. Every layer is built so that destination is reachable without a rewrite.
