## About
Automat builds AI agents that operate computers the way people do. The company sells two things: Automat Workforce, an AI coworker you hire and reach like a teammate, and Automat Core, a fully managed agentic automation platform that replaces legacy RPA and document-processing tools. Both run on the same execution engine: vision-based agents that see screens, use a mouse and keyboard, and adapt when interfaces change. Founded in 2022 by ex-Google engineers Lucas Ochoa and Gautam Bose. Backed by Felicis, Khosla Ventures, Initialized Capital, and Y Combinator. $19M raised.
## Product Lines
- Automat Workforce: an AI coworker named Ace, priced per agent, for teams of 2 to 50. Best fit when a team wants work done in the tools they already use, without building anything. https://runautomat.com/workforce
- Automat Core (Enterprise): fully managed automations plus the agentic workflow platform, for operations teams running high-volume processes at scale. Best fit when the work is unattended, high-throughput, and document-heavy. https://runautomat.com/enterprise
## Automat Workforce (Ace)
Ace is an AI agent you hire rather than software you configure. It has its own Mac, its own phone number, its own inbox, and its own logins, so a team reaches it the way it reaches any other coworker.
- Surfaces: email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, text message, iMessage, WhatsApp, comments in a document, and phone calls. Ace has a real inbox and a real number, so forwarding a thread or tagging it in a channel is the whole interface.
- No integrations required: Ace gets invited to tools the way a new hire does, with an account, a seat, and a login. No APIs, no connectors, no MCP servers. If a person can do it in a browser, Ace can do it, including internal tools and legacy systems that never shipped an API.
- Work it takes on: the repetitive multi-tool work that eats a team's week. Updating records after calls, chasing vendors and documents, reconciling data between two systems, moving meetings, processing invoices and onboarding paperwork, and following up until something actually closes.
- Managed: the Automat Workforce team onboards Ace, writes the first playbooks, and stays on for changes, upgrades, and support. The customer's side looks like managing a teammate: priorities, approvals, and feedback.
- Control: every run is logged with the steps Ace took and the screens it saw. Customers set what needs approval before it happens and can pause or redirect Ace at any point.
- Security: Ace runs in an isolated environment scoped to one organization, with SOC 2 controls, encrypted credentials, role-based access, and a full audit trail. Access is revoked the way an employee's would be.
- Time to value: Ace shows up in a workspace the same day it is onboarded. A 14-day free trial runs an existing workflow end to end.
## Automat Core (Enterprise)
- UI-Based AI Agents (RPA): browser and desktop automation using computer use. Agents see screens, click buttons, and adapt when UIs change. Works on any software including SAP GUI, Citrix, and legacy web portals without APIs.
- AI Document Extraction (IDP): vision language models that extract, classify, and process data from unstructured documents such as invoices, claims, mortgage applications, and medical records.
- API-Based Automations (iPaaS): orchestrates API integrations alongside UI and document automation in unified workflows.
- Platform: visual and code workflow builder, unattended browser and desktop automation at scale, human-in-the-loop steps, scheduled and durable runs, session replay, observability, and audit-ready history. Cloud, private, or desktop runtime with custom SLAs.
- Managed service: forward-deployed engineers build, deploy, and maintain automations. Customers share a screen recording or an SOP, and production automations ship in weeks.
## Pricing
- Workforce: $2,000 per month billed monthly, or $1,800 per month billed annually ($21,600 per year). Priced per AI coworker, not per seat, for teams of 2 to 50. Includes a dedicated Mac, email and company accounts, agentic browser and computer use, and SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR coverage. 14-day free trial. https://runautomat.com/pricing
- Enterprise: custom, scoped to the outcomes required. https://runautomat.com/contact
