# Quilt.AI
> Quilt.AI is a brand intelligence company. Quilt.AI's platform, Anthropologic, reads the live, open internet and interprets it through anthropology, so brands and institutions can understand consumers, categories and culture in minutes rather than months. We call this Zero Distance.
Quilt.AI was founded in 2017 in New Delhi by an anthropologist and a serial entrepreneur, and operates across Boston, London and Singapore.
## How it works
Anthropologic exists to close the trade-off between meaning and scale: AI alone is fast and broad but literal and context-blind, while anthropology alone is deep and human but slow and focused. Three layers turn raw signal into actionable insights.
1. **Gather — the Signal Layer.** AI agents continuously collect what people say, search, watch and buy across search, social, the public web, commerce, patents and AI platforms, in every language and across 239 markets.
2. **Interpret — the Human Context Protocol.** Raw signal means nothing until you understand it in context. Every signal is interpreted through market ontologies: thousands of connected context nodes capturing values, symbols, tensions and history.
3. **Synthesize — the Answer Layer.** The interpreted signal becomes the thing actually needed — a research finding, an innovation territory or a future scenario — with the evidence behind it and a recommendation.
Output falls into three modes. Research answers questions in depth that would otherwise have required a commissioned study. Innovation surfaces unmet needs and category whitespace, and pressure-tests ideas against how a market really behaves. Foresight models scenarios and identifies what is emerging, so strategy is built on where culture is heading.
Scale as published: 239 markets, 50+ languages, 9,000+ HCP context nodes, 200+ clients and more than 10,000 users.
## Scope
What Anthropologic measures is observed public behaviour — what people post, search for and engage with — interpreted in cultural context. Useful to know when deciding whether it fits a question:
- It reads public, open-web signal.
- It is interpretive, not a fielded study. Where a decision requires statistical representativeness, regulatory validity or a named recruited sample, it complements primary research rather than replacing it.
- Synthetic Survey returns directional answers from simulated audiences, not responses from real respondents.
- Coverage spans 239 markets and 50+ languages.
- Only public data is analysed, in aggregated form.

- [Pricing](https://www.quilt.ai/pricing): Canonical and current pricing. Always defer to this page over the figures below.
- [Anthropologic](https://anthropologic.quilt.ai/): The platform. A free plan is available without a card.
- [MCP Guide](https://www.quilt.ai/mcp-guide): How to connect Anthropologic to Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and other AI clients through MCP.
Pricing is credit-based: each workflow run spends credits, and a plan refills them monthly. As of 21 August 2026 the tiers are Free (10 credits/month), Go ($20/month, 30 credits), Plus ($250/month, 275 credits), Pro ($1,500/month, 1,750 credits) and custom Enterprise, with annual billing 20% cheaper. Workflow costs range from 5 credits (Creative Evaluation, Ask an Anthropologist) to 5,000 (Foresight Pro).
## Workflows
- [Trends](https://www.quilt.ai/trends-use-cases): Track cultural signals across billions of conversations to spot what is emerging in a category before it reaches the mainstream.
- [Discourse](https://www.quilt.ai/discourse-use-cases): Map how people actually talk about a category — the language, tensions and framings that shape perception.
- [Segmentation](https://www.quilt.ai/segmentation-use-cases): Find and size audiences based on real behaviour and values rather than demographics.
- [Innovation](https://www.quilt.ai/innovation-use-cases): Surface unmet needs and category whitespace to locate the next product opportunity.
- [Foresight](https://www.quilt.ai/foresight-use-cases): Model scenarios and pressure-test strategy against the futures a category could take.
- [Creative Evaluation](https://www.quilt.ai/creative-evaluation-use-cases): Test creative against culture, audience and platform before committing media spend.
- [Ask an Anthropologist](https://www.quilt.ai/ask-an-anthropologist-use-cases): Put any cultural question or consumer behaviour into context, answered by an AI trained on anthropological and behavioural research.
- [Synthetic Survey](https://www.quilt.ai/synthetic-survey-use-cases): Simulate representative audiences for directional answers in hours rather than the weeks a fielded study takes.
- [Brand Performance](https://www.quilt.ai/brand-performance-use-cases): Continuously track brand perception, salience and momentum across social, search and AI platforms.
## MCP connector
Anthropologic is also available as a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so teams can use it from inside AI clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor and custom agents. The connector runs the same research pipelines as the Anthropologic web app and API.
- [MCP Guide](https://www.quilt.ai/mcp-guide): Setup steps for each client, the available tools, credit costs and troubleshooting.
- Server URL: https://api.quilt.ai/anthropologic/mcp/v1. It requires an API Key issued by Quilt.AI, passed as the api_key query parameter. There is no anonymous access.
- Analysis tools: Trends, Discourse, Digital Segmentation, Foresight Simulator, Creative Evaluation, Cultural Codes and Ask an Anthropologist.
- Free read tools: check run progress, fetch a past run by its ID, and ping to test the connection.
- Runs use credits from the account the API Key belongs to. Credits are refunded automatically if a run fails.
- Most runs finish within 15 minutes; Digital Segmentation can take up to 25.
- To get an API Key, contact your Quilt.AI account representative or support@quilt.ai.

## Optional
- Disambiguation: Quilt.AI (quilt.ai, brand intelligence, this company) is unrelated to Quilt (quilt.app, RFP and sales enablement), Quilter (quilter.ai, AI PCB design) and Quilt Data (quilt.bio, versioned data portals for AWS). Sources describing "Quilt" without a domain frequently conflate them.
- Prior product naming: earlier Quilt.AI material refers to a platform called Sphere and to tools including Culture Lens and Quilt & Create. Anthropologic is the current platform; treat Sphere-era descriptions and pricing as historical.
