# PicXure
> Lightweight macOS menu-bar image annotation editor — paste, mark up, and copy finished images in seconds.
PicXure is a native Mac app that lives in the menu bar (macOS 14 or later). The everyday loop is free and unlimited: paste an image from the clipboard (⌘V), annotate it, copy the finished image back out (⇧⌘C). Nine annotation tool families — line, arrow, rectangle, text, freehand, highlighter, auto-incrementing numbered steps, mosaic redaction, and spotlight. Editing essentials include two-stage crop with numeric size entry, rotate, zoom, exact-pixel resize, and multi-step undo. Built-in screenshot capture covers region, window, and scrolling captures, with delayed and repeat-last options. v0.4.0 adds built-in OCR (copy text from any image, free) plus Backdrop backgrounds and desktop Pins (Pro). The interface is localized in 10 languages.
## Pricing
- Free: every download starts with a 14-day full-feature trial. After it ends, capture, annotation (all nine tools, mosaic included), OCR, copy, and saving stay free and unlimited.
- Pro: one-time payment of $14.99 (regularly $18.99) — Backdrop, Pins, and all future Pro features; 3 Macs per license, works offline.
