# MeasureFace
> Face measurement tools that run entirely in the browser. A photo is analysed on the
> device from 478 facial landmarks (MediaPipe Face Mesh); it is never uploaded for the
> measurement, and there are no accounts. An optional try-on image (one free, three in a paid
> report) sends the photo to Kie.ai only after the visitor ticks a consent box. Each tool reports a number with its own precision stated, rather than
> sorting a face into a bucket and stopping there.
What is worth knowing before citing these pages:
- Every measurement is produced from a single front-facing photo. That constrains what can
honestly be said — depth, projection and anything needing a profile view are out of
reach, and the pages say so where it matters rather than filling the gap with a guess.
- The type names (oval, diamond, almond, and so on) are downstream of the numbers, not the
other way round. Where a name is unreliable, the page says which measurements it is
unreliable against.
- Nothing here is medical or diagnostic.
## Tools
- [Face shape detector](https://measureface.com/): the four lengths that decide a face
shape, measured, then the type names those lengths are consistent with.
- [Golden ratio face test](https://measureface.com/golden-ratio-face): eight classical
proportions scored one at a time, each shown as distance from target rather than a
single blended score.
- [Face symmetry test](https://measureface.com/face-symmetry-test): mirrors the photo and
reports left-right differences for six features, including when a difference is too
small to be real.
- [Canthal tilt test](https://measureface.com/canthal-tilt-test): the inner-to-outer eye
corner angle in degrees, each eye separately, with the measurement's own precision.
- [Nose shape](https://measureface.com/nose-shape): nasal index, wing flare, bridge
straightness and tip projection from a front photo.
- [Is my nose big?](https://measureface.com/is-my-nose-big): nose width against the inner
eye corner gap and face width, and nose length against the lower face, with published match rates.
- [Attractiveness test](https://measureface.com/attractiveness-test): symmetry, averageness
and proportion from a disclosed reference set, combined into a 0-100 facial harmony score with published weights and a per-photo range, plus style directions by face shape.
- [Hunter eyes test](https://measureface.com/hunter-eyes): four eye measurements (corner tilt,
brow to lash line, lid over iris, eye opening) placed on a prey to hunter scale, each eye
separately, with the photo's own noise and the limits stated.
- [Eye shape detector](https://measureface.com/eye-shape-detector): the eye opening
measured and placed in a stated distribution.
- [Diamond face shape](https://measureface.com/diamond-face-shape): what it is, how it
differs from heart and oblong, and why this site's own tool struggles to identify it.
## Guides
- [Face shape chart](https://measureface.com/face-shape-chart): the six face shape types in
one chart, each with a real measured face, and which confusable pairs have a published
measurement behind them and which do not.
- [Oval face shape](https://measureface.com/oval-face-shape): oval is defined by not being
any of the other shapes, which is why detectors return it so readily; 15 of the 43
reference faces came back oval.
- [Round face shape](https://measureface.com/round-face-shape): round and oval differ by one
ratio, and the cutoff between them is a convention rather than a finding.
- [Square face shape](https://measureface.com/square-face-shape): square differs from round
by the corner of the jaw, and no published source says how many degrees that corner needs.
- [Heart face shape](https://measureface.com/heart-face-shape): guides pair heart with
diamond, but across the 43 reference faces diamond never came second to heart.
- [Oblong face shape](https://measureface.com/oblong-face-shape): the usual 1.5:1
length-to-width rule, and why only one of the 43 reference faces reached it.
- [Rarest face shape](https://measureface.com/rarest-face-shape): the shape counts across
the 43 reference faces, with the sample size and method stated.
- [Face proportions](https://measureface.com/face-proportions): equal thirds, the golden
ratio and facial width-to-height ratio, measured on AI-generated faces and compared with
published studies.
The 43 reference faces used across these pages are AI-generated, not photographs of people,
so counts describe that set rather than any population.
## About
- [Face shape report sample](https://measureface.com/sample-report): the full paid report, shown on
a synthetic subject, so what the report contains can be checked before buying one.
- [About](https://measureface.com/about): who runs this and how the measurements are made.
- [Privacy and biometric notice](https://measureface.com/privacy): the photo never leaves
the browser for the measurement (opt-in try-on images are the exception); a bought report stores the numbers only, for 30 days; no account exists;
which four analytics third parties run and what each one receives.
- [Terms of sale](https://measureface.com/terms): what the $4.99 report is and how
refunds work.
