# Localdock > Localdock is a one-time-purchase macOS app for testing local dev servers on > real devices. Turn on Tap to Fix for a project, open it on your phone or in > any browser, tap what's broken, and the report lands on your Mac with a > screenshot, the failed requests and the console — one click from Claude Code > or Codex. When the request that failed comes back 200, Localdock marks the > report fixed. Every project also gets a real address: name.localhost on the > Mac, name.local on your Wi-Fi, or a public HTTPS link. Key facts: - macOS 14+ (Apple silicon & Intel). One-time purchase, single device, no subscription, no account. Every Localdock 2 update included. - Tap to Fix: a small bug button on every page of a project it's switched on for — phones over Wi-Fi and any desktop browser (⌥⇧L also starts it). Point at the element, add a few words, send. Nothing to install on the device; no SDK or code change — Localdock adds one script tag to the project's HTML page loads as they pass through. If a page's Content-Security-Policy would block it, Localdock leaves the page alone and says so. - A report carries a DOM-rendered screenshot with the element marked, the element and its selector, failed requests and recent console lines, and the note. No cookies, form values or passwords. Reports stay on the Mac for 30 days. - Hand over: writes the report as a task into the project's .localdock folder and starts Claude Code or Codex in Terminal or iTerm. The agent is chosen per project (a repo's .localdock/config may suggest one, never the command). Report text is fenced so the agent treats it as evidence, not instructions. - Auto-fixed: a handed-over report is marked fixed when the same request (method and path) returns 2xx from the same project. Reports without a failing request (layout bugs) are marked fixed by hand. - Live console: while a project is open on a device, its console lines and requests stream to the Mac (memory only), and any error line can become a report. - Addresses: dashboard.localhost (this Mac) → dashboard.local (your Wi-Fi; a QR code per project in the menu bar) → a key-protected public HTTPS link on *.localdock.link that expires after an hour. Names come from project folders, follow the server across port changes, need no DNS or admin password; port 80 with a 7777 fallback. - Privacy: nothing about processes, ports, projects, reports or file paths is sent to Localdock's servers. The only outbound call is the licence check (licence key, instance ID, device name). Public traffic runs between the Mac and Cloudflare. - For AI coding agents, besides Hand over: an MCP server with exactly three tools — list_ports, get_free_port (reserves a port for 60 seconds) and cleanup (gracefully stops orphaned servers or frees an exact port). - Built in public by Dmytro Virych (https://x.com/dmytrovirych), Kharkiv, Ukraine. Payment is handled by Creem as merchant of record; 14-day no-reason refund. ## Pages - [Home](https://www.localdock.dev/): Tap to Fix, live pricing, FAQ - [Changelog](https://www.localdock.dev/changelog): what shipped in each release - [Blog](https://www.localdock.dev/blog): building and selling Localdock in public - [Launch numbers: #8 on Product Hunt, 3,755 visitors, 19 sales](https://www.localdock.dev/blog/product-hunt-launch): the 1.x launch retrospective, dated 6 September 2026 - [Localdock for AI coding agents](https://www.localdock.dev/ai-coding-agents): hand bug reports to Claude Code or Codex; the three MCP tools - [Test localhost on your phone](https://www.localdock.dev/test-localhost-on-phone): open a dev server on a real phone and report bugs from it with Tap to Fix - [How name.localhost works](https://www.localdock.dev/localhost-domains): the web standard behind the names — no DNS, no hosts file, no sudo - [Share localhost with a client](https://www.localdock.dev/share-localhost): key-gated, expiring public HTTPS links; clients can report bugs back - [Localdock vs ngrok](https://www.localdock.dev/vs/ngrok): honest comparison - [Localdock vs LocalCan](https://www.localdock.dev/vs/localcan): the closest competitor, compared both directions - [Recover your licence key](https://www.localdock.dev/recover) - [Privacy Policy](https://www.localdock.dev/privacy) - [Terms of Service](https://www.localdock.dev/terms) - [Refund Policy](https://www.localdock.dev/refunds)
