# Lanes
> Lanes is a family of tools for working alongside AI agents, in two halves: run many agents at once, and connect them to your tools once. Lanes Desktop is the first half, an agentic development environment where you run multiple AI coding agents in parallel from one workspace, plan tasks on an issue board, give each session its own git worktree, and ship with full oversight (https://lanes.sh/desktop). Lanes Link is the second, one open-source MCP endpoint you own and run, holding your accounts, memory, tasks, skills, and secrets behind a single permission boundary and audit log, so a fourth client is not a fourth integration (https://lanes.sh/link). Both are open source. Around them: Lanes Forms is a form backend as a service, where agents provision live form endpoints over MCP, or you do with one curl, and the owner claims the form by email into their dashboard. Lanes Compute is on-demand GPU infrastructure for training, fine-tuning, and inference, from a single card to multi-node clusters, billed by the second. Managed Services is our own team building and operating agentic delivery, with humans accountable for the result.
Every page on this site is available as clean Markdown. Add ".md" to the path (for example https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/provisioning.md), or send "Accept: text/markdown" to any page URL and the same document comes back with Content-Type: text/markdown. Docs, use cases, and comparisons also answer at the older /raw suffix (https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/provisioning/raw). The full documentation in a single file: https://lanes.sh/llms-full.txt
## Start here if you are an agent
- [Developer resources](https://lanes.sh/developers): the one page with the API schema, MCP servers, CLI, auth model, error codes, rate limits, and the versioning and deprecation policy.
- OpenAPI schema: https://api.lanes.sh/openapi.json
- API catalogue (RFC 9727): https://lanes.sh/.well-known/api-catalog
- Protected resource metadata (RFC 9728): https://api.lanes.sh/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource
- Security policy (RFC 9116): https://lanes.sh/.well-known/security.txt
- Hosted MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP, no signup): https://api.lanes.sh/mcp
- Contact: hello@lanes.sh
No account is needed to start: "POST https://api.lanes.sh/v1/forms" provisions a live form endpoint anonymously and returns a claim link to hand to the site owner. A free plan and self-serve API keys cover everything past that, and there is no sales call in the way.
## Lanes Desktop docs
Lanes Desktop is a macOS app for parallel AI coding: an issue board where every task can run Claude Code, Codex, or other CLI agents in isolated git worktrees.
- [Quick start](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/quick-start): Install Lanes and get your first agent session running, in about two minutes.
- [The Issue Board](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/issue-board): Your task workspace - the heart of Lanes where every issue has a visual home.
- [Working with Sessions](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/sessions): Sessions are the runtime engine of Lanes: real terminals running AI coding agents, attached to issues on your board. Run many in parallel on a single issue.
- [Worktree Management](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/worktrees): Git worktrees give each issue its own isolated branch and working directory, so multiple AI agents can work in the same repo without collisions.
- [Labels & Filtering](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/labels-and-filtering): Categorize issues with color-coded labels and use targeted filters to keep a busy board organized.
- [Dependencies](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/dependencies): Link issues that block each other so Lanes works through them in the correct order.
- [Quick Commands](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/quick-commands): Pre-configured prompts and shell commands you can execute with a single click or keystroke.
- [File Browser & Editor](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/file-browser): Browse and edit project files without leaving Lanes, using a built-in Monaco editor.
- [Databases Explorer](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/databases): Browse SQLite databases and run read-only SQL queries without leaving Lanes.
- [Git Integration](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/git-integration): Review, commit, sync, and switch branches inside Lanes. A full git client next to your agent, not just a diff viewer.
- [Process Manager](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/process-manager): Monitor every CLI process Lanes knows about: tracked sessions, orphans, and external agents.
- [Deep Links](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/deep-links): Launch Lanes from Linear, GitHub, scripts, or bookmarklets with a pre-filled new-issue draft, or open it straight on a settings page.
- [Git Identity](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/git-identity): Switch between GitHub accounts and keep the git author name and email on your commits attributed to the right one.
- [Voice Dictation](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/voice-dictation): Talk instead of typing. Dictate an issue description or a prompt straight into a running coding session, using any OpenAI-compatible speech-to-text endpoint.
- [Harness](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/harness): The coding CLIs Lanes drives, with install state, version, and one-click updates for each one.
- [Gateway](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/gateway): Point Lanes sessions at a model provider you host or buy elsewhere -- local Ollama or LM Studio, a vLLM box on your network, or a provider serving the same wire format.
- [Local LLMs](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/local-llms): Run coding agents against a model on your own machine. Lanes manages Ollama end to end, sizes models to your hardware, and sets a context window that survives a real agent prompt.
- [Collaboration](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/collaboration): Invite your team, share a workspace, chat, and run AI agents together on the same board.
- [Settings & Configuration](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/settings): Configure appearance, project directories, workflow behavior, labels, quick commands, CLI flags, model providers, notifications, and permissions.
- [Keyboard Shortcuts](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/keyboard-shortcuts): Every keyboard shortcut available in Lanes, grouped by context.
- [Feedback & Community](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/community): Join our Discord, report bugs, and help shape what Lanes becomes.
- [Lanes Desktop MCP](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/local-mcp): Run Lanes Desktop MCP, a server on your machine, so Claude Code, Codex, and other agents can read your board and drive sessions.
- [GitHub Integration](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/github-integration): Connect Lanes to GitHub to import issues, push results back, and reach GitHub from your agent via the Lanes MCP.
- [Linear Integration](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/linear-integration): Connect Lanes to Linear to import tickets, comment results back, and reach Linear from your agent via the Lanes MCP.
- [Building Loops](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/loops): Drive Lanes sessions in an agent loop over the Lanes Desktop MCP: poll session status, verify with the diff, advance the board, and stop safely.
- [Lanes Link](https://lanes.sh/docs/desktop/lanes-link): Run Lanes Link from the desktop app: install the CLI, choose a profile and target, connect accounts, start the endpoint, and register it with Claude Code or Codex, without leaving Lanes.
## Lanes Forms docs
Lanes Forms lets an AI coding agent (or anyone with curl) create a working form backend with a single unauthenticated API call, no signup. Submissions are captured from the first second and held until the site owner claims the form from their inbox. It handles storage, email forwarding, spam defense (honeypot, per-IP rate limits, disposable-email rejection), and origin-locked submissions.
- [Quick start](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/quick-start): Provision a form, wire it into your site, and claim it, in three steps.
- [Provisioning a form](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/provisioning): Create a live form endpoint with a single POST, anonymously or with a workspace key.
- [Claiming a form](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/claiming): Take ownership of an unclaimed form. Held submissions are released and forwarding turns on.
- [Submitting data](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/submitting): POST to a form endpoint from a browser, a server, or an agent, and what comes back.
- [Integrating a form](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/integrating): Wire an endpoint into a static HTML form, a fetch call, or a server, and choose where submissions go.
- [Securing your endpoints](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/securing-your-endpoints): Origin allowlisting for browsers, API-key mode for servers, plus CORS and built-in spam defense.
- [Errors](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/errors): The error envelope and the codes you will meet, with how to resolve each.
- [API reference](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/api-reference): Every endpoint at a glance, plus the live interactive OpenAPI docs.
- [Agents and MCP](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/agents-and-mcp): Provision and fill forms from a coding agent with the MCP server, the skill, or a prompt.
- [Rate limits](https://lanes.sh/docs/forms/rate-limits): The caps that govern provisioning and submission, and the response headers that report live quota so you can self-throttle.
## Lanes Link docs
Lanes Link is one open-source MCP endpoint you run yourself. Connect an account once and every agent reaches it through the same deny-by-default policy and append-only audit log. The guides below take you from install to a deployed endpoint, there is one page per account you can connect, and the reference covers the CLI, the config, and the security model. The architecture decision records stay with the source at https://github.com/lanes-sh/link.
- [Quick start](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/quick-start): From nothing to an endpoint your agents can use, in six commands
- [Access Profiles](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/access-profiles): What a profile is, what it decides, and how to set one up for each boundary you keep.
- [Add it to your agent](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/clients): Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop, claude.ai, ChatGPT, and anything else
- [Deploy to your own cloud](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/deploy): Five commands to a URL you can reach from a phone
- [Built-ins](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/built-ins): Memory, tasks, assets, skills, identity, entities, the vault, and the audit log. Your own material, with no account to connect and no credential to hold.
- [Memory](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/memory): What is true, kept as plain Markdown and served back to every later session. How to write it, how to search it, and why you may want it read-only.
- [Tasks](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/tasks): What is to be done, with a status so it can be closed. Six statuses, why list shows three, and how tasks differ from memory.
- [Assets](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/assets): A file kept under its own name, with no id, prefix, sidecar, or index. What the naming rules are, and why an asset carries no description.
- [Skills](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/skills): Your own procedures, surfaced as MCP prompts rather than tools, so a person selects one and a model cannot choose it for you.
- [Vault](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/vault): Credentials your agents can spend without reading. One capability per item, no listing, and why a value written now is not readable until the endpoint restarts.
- [Identity](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/identity): Who you are, so an agent writes as you rather than as itself. Read-only by construction, and the one built-in with no write path at all.
- [Entities](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/entities): Who everyone else is: the people, companies and projects you deal with, and how to reach each of them. Looked up rather than remembered, and never guessed.
- [Audit log](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/audit): Every capability call, allowed or refused, in a hash-chained append-only record. What an entry keeps, what it withholds, and how to verify nothing was altered.
- [Connections](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/connect): What a connection is, the methods behind one, and what happens the moment you make it. The entry point to the provider catalogue and to narrowing what an agent may do.
- [Scopes and permissions](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/scopes): The two different things called scope, how to narrow one instantly and widen the other, and what can and cannot be set per connection.
- [Add your own](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/add-your-own): Any MCP server, REST API, IMAP mailbox, CalDAV or CardDAV server, or folder on your machine
- [Every provider](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/providers): The full Lanes Link catalogue: 105 providers your agents can reach, grouped by what connecting one actually asks of you.
- [Airtable](https://lanes.sh/docs/link/airtable): Connect Airtable to your agents with Lanes Link. Bases, tables, records, and schema.
