Knight Rise is a mobile chess application developed by Olib AI, an independent software studio headquartered in San Francisco, California. The app combines a native 2300-ELO Rust chess engine, move-by-move Game Review, an on-device camera board scanner, interactive coach explanations, 21 lessons, 42 training puzzles, and cross-platform multiplayer.

The application runs entirely on-device with zero telemetry, zero analytics tracking, and no account requirements. The engine, computer vision, evaluations, and game history stay local to the user device. The only network connections are user-initiated: importing a game via link or opting in to online multiplayer.

Knight Rise is free to download and start. Free features include offline engine play across four tiers, all 21 lessons, 42 curated puzzles, board scanning, and friend play. Analysis and Pro features are available through optional in-app purchases ($0.99 for Analysis unlock; Pro subscription at $2.99 per month, $24.99 per year, or $99.99 lifetime). In addition, users can earn up to one full year of Pro completely free without a payment method by completing twelve in-app learning achievements and playing challenges.
