# AgentRail
> AgentRail is the control plane for AI coding agents — the API layer that connects agents to GitHub, Linear, and CI so they can pick up tickets, watch CI, incorporate review feedback, and merge, end-to-end.
## What it does
AgentRail solves the scaffolding problem in AI-assisted software development. Coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and others) can write code, but the hard part is everything around it: picking up the right ticket, watching CI, incorporating review feedback, and merging when it is ready. AgentRail handles that entire loop through a single API.
Developers integrate once via the AgentRail SDK (TypeScript or Python) and their agents immediately gain:
- Structured task intake from GitHub Issues and Linear tickets via webhook
- Real-time CI feedback from GitHub Actions and CircleCI as typed events
- PR review comments returned as severity-ranked structured events (blocking vs. advisory)
- One-call merge that respects branch protection policies and closes the upstream issue
## Who it is for
- Teams running AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) on real production codebases
- Platform engineers building internal agent infrastructure
- Developer tool companies embedding agent capabilities into their products
## Key facts
- Source-available under MIT license — self-host for free today
- Cloud managed service is on the roadmap; join the waitlist at https://agentrail.app/waitlist
- No prompt engineering required — agents get structured typed events, not raw logs
- Per-agent scoped API keys with no shared credentials
- SDKs: TypeScript (`@agentrail-core/cli`) and Python (`pip install agentrail`)
- Integrations: GitHub Issues, Linear, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitHub PRs

## Competitors and alternatives
AgentRail is most often compared to: building custom agent scaffolding in-house, LangChain/LangGraph agent orchestration frameworks, and general-purpose workflow automation tools. Unlike those, AgentRail is purpose-built for the software development lifecycle — it understands tickets, CI runs, PR reviews, and merges as first-class concepts.
