# ZenProducts
> ZenProducts is a product studio building purpose built apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Chrome. Each app serves a focused everyday task. Product pages and policies explain storage, permissions and sync for that app. Zen Lean requires an account. Zen Whisper runs core speech recognition locally after speech packs are downloaded; optional cloud features and license services have different data requirements.

## Comparisons and alternatives
Each page names the cases where the other product is the better choice, and carries the date its
claims about that product were last checked.
- [1Password Alternative for iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/1password): No account, an Apple only vault, and the three cases where you should stay put.
- [Bitwarden Alternative for iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/bitwarden): Open source and everywhere, against one platform built natively.
- [Apple Passwords Alternative for iPhone & Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/apple-passwords): What the built-in app has nowhere to put, and how to move just that.
- [LastPass Alternative for iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/lastpass): What to change before you switch, and why the old vault still matters.
- [Dashlane Alternative for iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/dashlane): Same method, eight times the memory, and no bundle you did not ask for.
- [Enpass Alternative for iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/enpass): Two products that agree nobody should hold your vault. The difference is the key.
- [Proton Pass Alternative for iPhone and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/proton-pass): The strongest rival we have. One narrow reason to move, stated honestly.
- [Apple Dictation Alternative for Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/alternatives/apple-dictation): On the Mac every time, not just sometimes, and when the built-in one is enough.
- [Zen Passwords vs Apple Passwords](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-apple-passwords): Start with your record types, sharing needs and the cost of switching.
- [Zen Passwords vs 1Password: Which Fits You](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-1password): Breadth against depth. Ten rounds, and the number that decides it if you are all Apple.
- [Zen Passwords vs Bitwarden: Key Differences](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-bitwarden): Compare device support, account requirements and the free limits.
- [Zen Passwords vs LastPass: ten rounds scored](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-lastpass): Six rounds to two, and the 2022 breach is why.
- [Zen Passwords vs Dashlane: ten rounds scored](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-dashlane): Four rounds to three. Same method, eight times the memory.
- [Zen Passwords vs Proton Pass: Which Fits You](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-proton-pass): Cross-platform sharing and audits, or a personal Apple-device vault with optional iCloud sync.
- [Zen Passwords vs Enpass: ten rounds scored](https://www.zenproducts.ai/compare/zen-passwords-vs-enpass): Enpass four, us three. Two products that agree on the important part.
## Use cases
- [Password Manager for Freelancers on Apple Devices](https://www.zenproducts.ai/for/freelancers): Client logins, your own bank details and tax documents in one vault on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Encrypted on the device, with no account and nothing shared.
- [Offline Password Manager for Travel on iPhone and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/for/travel): Passports, cards and logins in one encrypted vault that opens with no network at all. No account to sign into from a hotel connection you do not trust.
- [Personal Password Manager for Work Logins on Apple](https://www.zenproducts.ai/for/work): Use a personal Apple-device vault for accounts you own. Separate personal credentials from company-managed access and check workplace requirements first.
- [iPhone Teleprompter for YouTube: Read, Record and Edit](https://www.zenproducts.ai/for/youtube-creators): Run scripts on iPhone or iPad, record from the front camera and trim in place. Mirrored output for glass rigs, and takes that stay on your device.
- [Teleprompter App for Keynote and Conference Speakers](https://www.zenproducts.ai/for/speakers): Know the runtime before you walk on, run the script from an iPad, and keep an unannounced talk off a vendor server. Works with no network in the room.
## Support and how-to guides
- [Get started with Zen Passwords](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/get-started): There is no account to create. You install the app, choose a master password, and the vault exists on your device from that moment. Setup is four steps and takes about five minutes: create the vault, save a recovery key, turn on AutoFill, and add your first login.
- [Set up AutoFill on iPhone, iPad and Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/set-up-autofill): AutoFill is a system setting rather than something the app can switch on for you. Turn Zen Passwords on as an AutoFill provider in Settings, and from then on your logins, one-time codes and passkeys are offered in Safari and in other apps the way the built in ones are. It has to be done once per device.
- [Use one-time codes](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/one-time-codes): Zen Passwords generates one-time codes itself, stored on the login they belong to rather than in a separate app. Once a code is on an entry, AutoFill offers the password and then the code, so signing in is two taps instead of a hunt through another app.
- [What you can keep in the vault](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/item-types-and-attachments): Zen Passwords holds seven kinds of item: web logins, payment cards, bank details, identity documents, Wi-Fi networks, software licences and secure notes. Each has fields suited to it, and you can attach photos to any entry. Attachments are encrypted with the entry itself.
- [Unlock, auto-lock and clipboard settings](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/lock-and-privacy-settings): Biometric unlock is optional and off until you turn it on. The vault locks itself after a period of inactivity, and anything you copy out of it is cleared from the clipboard in under a minute. All three are settings you can change.
- [Turn on iCloud sync](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/turn-on-icloud-sync): Sync is optional and off until you turn it on. When you do, the vault travels through your own private iCloud under your Apple ID, as encrypted data. There is no Zen account and no Zen server holding a copy, which is also why we cannot help you recover anything from it.
- [Make an encrypted backup](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/encrypted-backups): Backups come out encrypted, either on demand or on a schedule, into a folder you choose. The app keeps a history of every backup it has made so you can see when the last one ran. Restoring means importing a backup file and unlocking it with the master password it was made under.
- [Set up a recovery key before you need it](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/set-up-a-recovery-key): Save a recovery key, and do it while you still know your master password. You can keep the key yourself, or use social recovery to split it across people you trust so no single person holds it. Nobody at Zen can reset your master password, so this is the only thing standing between forgetting it and losing the vault.
- [AutoFill is not offering my login](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/autofill-not-appearing): Nine times in ten the entry has no web address saved on it, so nothing matches the page you are on. After that, check that Zen Passwords is switched on as an AutoFill provider on that specific device, that the vault is unlocked, and that the address on the entry matches the site you are actually signing in to.
- [One device is behind the other](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/sync-not-updating): Check that both devices are signed into the same Apple ID, that sync is turned on in the app on both, and that the device has had a network connection since the change. Sync travels through your own iCloud, so there is no Zen server we can look at, and no queue we can flush from our end.
- [The free tier, and what Premium adds](https://www.zenproducts.ai/support/zen-passwords/free-tier-and-premium): Zen Passwords is free for up to five active items. AutoFill, sync, backups and recovery work within that limit. Premium removes the item limit and adds the opt-in breach check. Apple shows current purchase terms before you buy.
## Writing
- [Keep a baby feeding, diaper and sleep log on iPhone](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/baby-feeding-diaper-sleep-log-iphone): Set up a useful care log in Zen Otto: record feeds, correct missed entries and prepare a caregiver handover. Includes sharing, privacy and plan requirements.
- [Start a food diary on iPhone with Zen Lean](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/food-diary-calorie-macro-tracker-iphone): Log your first meal, check portions and review calories and macros in Zen Lean. Learn when to use manual entry, barcode lookup or a photo estimate.
- [Set up Zen Passwords AutoFill on iPhone](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/set-up-zen-passwords-autofill-iphone): Save a login, select Zen Passwords as an AutoFill provider and test a sign-in. A practical setup guide with troubleshooting, free limits and recovery checks.

- [What really protects your passwords if a backup leaks](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/what-protects-your-passwords-stolen-backup-file): If someone got hold of a Zen Passwords backup today, here is exactly what they could read, what they could not, and what the second key changed.
- [Built so even we cannot open your Zen Passwords vault](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/zen-passwords-secret-key-two-key-vault-design): The thinking behind the two-key design: how a Secret Key is combined with your master password, why there is no partial credit, and what it does not protect against.
- [Apple Dictation vs private local Mac dictation: what actually stays on your Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/apple-dictation-vs-private-mac-dictation): Apple Dictation is on-device for a lot of everyday use, and not for the rest, with no indicator that tells you which. Zen Whisper is built to make that boundary explicit instead of confident. Here is an honest, feature-by-feature comparison.
- [MacWhisper vs Zen Whisper: transcription and dictation are different jobs](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/macwhisper-vs-zen-whisper-dictation-vs-transcription): MacWhisper is built to turn recordings into text. Zen Whisper is built to type at your cursor while you speak. Here is an honest comparison so you pick the tool that matches the job, not the brand that sounds similar.
- [Zen Slate vs Apple Notes: Which Notebook Fits?](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/private-notes-app-vs-apple-notes-iphone): Compare Zen Slate and Apple Notes for iPhone and iPad: writing, scanning, organization, sync and shared notes. Choose for the way you use a notebook.
- [A private password manager for iPhone that keeps your vault on your device](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/private-password-manager-iphone-on-device): Most password managers ask you to trust a stranger's cloud before you have typed a single password. Zen Passwords encrypts your vault on your iPhone first, with sync riding your own Apple ID only if you turn it on. Here is what "on device" actually buys you.
- [Clearing out ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini conversations in bulk](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/delete-chatgpt-claude-gemini-conversations-in-bulk): AI chat sidebars fill with hundreds of half-finished conversations, and deleting them one at a time is the reason nobody does. Bulk Delete adds selection to ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, runs locally in Chrome, and needs no account.
- [Dictating in Hindi and Hinglish on a Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/hindi-hinglish-dictation-mac): Most dictation tools treat Hindi as an afterthought and Hinglish as a mistake. Zen Whisper exposes 110 spoken language options including Hindi, Hinglish, and English regional variants, with core speech recognition running on your Mac.
- [Mac dictation that keeps your voice on your Mac](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/mac-dictation-that-stays-on-your-mac): Most dictation sends your voice to somebody else's server to be turned into text. Zen Whisper runs core speech recognition on your Mac, inserts text at the cursor in the apps you already use, and works in 110 spoken languages. Here is how that changes what you are willing to dictate.
- [Transcribing an interview on your Mac without uploading it](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/transcribe-interview-mac-without-uploading): Uploading a recording to a transcription service means handing over somebody else's words as well as your own. Zen Whisper transcribes audio and video files on your Mac, keeps a searchable history, and works in 110 languages.

- [Zen Slate vs Bear: rich notes on iPhone and iPad without paying twice for sync](https://www.zenproducts.ai/posts/zen-slate-vs-bear-minimalist-notes-iphone-mac): Bear is a strong minimalist notes app. Zen Slate targets the same job with folders and tags, local-first storage, and iCloud sync behind optional Pro.
