# unWarp

> unWarp is a voice-first note app made by Pentaeon, a software company in Montpellier, France. Speak a thought or record a meeting from your own device, and unWarp transcribes it, cleans it up, titles and tags the note, summarises it and pulls out the action items and dates. No bot joins your calls.

The answers below are the ones on the FAQ page, word for word. The app's interface is in English and French; notes are written in the language the user picks.

**What is unWarp?**
A voice-first notes app. You speak, or you record a meeting, and unWarp transcribes it, cleans it up, titles and tags it, summarises it, and pulls out action items. You can search the result by the exact words or by what you meant. Notes are Markdown.

**How does a recording become a note?**
You record from your own device. The audio is transcribed, then polished into a note: filler trimmed, a title, tags, a short summary, and action items. The note is what you keep and edit.

**What does it cost?**
Personal is €10/mo (€100/yr). Team is €8/seat/mo (€80/seat/yr) with a two-seat minimum, so five people are €40/mo. There is a 14-day trial and no card to start. There is no free tier. Cancel from the billing page.

**What is included?**
Personal includes 10 GB of storage. Team includes 20 GB per seat, plus meeting recording and a shared workspace. Meeting recording is not on Personal.

**Does a bot join my meeting?**
No. Nothing joins the call as a participant. Meetings are recorded in the app, from your own device. Notes, transcripts and the library open in the browser.

**Which devices can I use?**
Web, Windows, macOS, Linux (AppImage) and Android. unWarp Cast, the push-to-talk dictation companion, is for Windows, macOS and Linux. System-audio capture works on Windows and macOS.

**Is my audio used to train AI models?**
No. Your audio and your notes are not used to train any model. The vendors that receive audio or text — AssemblyAI, Groq, Anthropic and OpenAI — state they do not train on API customer data by default, and unWarp does not opt into a tier that would.

**Where is my data stored, and is processing EU-only?**
Notes, transcripts and account data are stored in the EU, in Supabase's Frankfurt region. Processing is not EU-only. Speech-to-text runs on AssemblyAI, with Groq as a fallback, and the cleanup and summarisation run on Anthropic. Embeddings and text-to-speech run on OpenAI. Those are United States sub-processors. **How long do you keep the recording?**
A voice-note recording is permanently deleted within one hour of capture. The transcript is what remains. A meeting recording is kept for 30 days so you can tap a transcript line and hear that moment, then the audio is permanently deleted. The transcript and the note stay until you delete them. Notes in the Bin are hard-deleted after 10 days.

**Can I export everything, and can I delete my account?**
Yes. Export is a ZIP with one Markdown file per note plus a manifest.json, and export stays available on a lapsed account. Deleting the account hard-deletes your data after a 7-day grace period. Backups may keep copies for up to 30 days after that.

**Do you have SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or SSO?**
No. There is no SOC 2 report, no ISO 27001 certificate, no HIPAA tier, no signed BAA, and no SSO or SCIM. There is no local-only or on-device transcription mode. A DPA is available for unWarp Team, and sub-processor changes are announced 30 days in advance for Team customers under that DPA.

**Who builds unWarp?**
Pentaeon, a French company. The product is paid software with a 14-day trial, not a free plan. The app is available in English and French, and notes are written in the language you choose.
