# Reactor Atlas > An interactive map and reference of every nuclear power reactor in the world, from 1954 to > the present: technical sheets, a timeline, an animated wiki by reactor type, a research- > reactor layer, and a signals section with operational events and official > statements from primary sources. Maintained by Federico Caccia, a nuclear engineer, in Argentina. ## Data sources - IAEA PRIS (Power Reactor Information System) — status, dates, load factors - Global Energy Monitor, Global Nuclear Power Tracker — coordinates, capacity, type, status - Wikipedia and Wikidata — models, construction dates, commercial operation, photos - Our World in Data (Ember, Energy Institute) — nuclear share of electricity by country - US NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) — event notifications, unit power status - CAMMESA (Argentina) — daily generation by unit - Elexon BMRS (United Kingdom) — outage and generation data - RTE (France) — grid and generation data - IESO (Ontario, Canada) — generation data - EDF — official plant announcements ## Selected HTML entry points Use these curated pages for targeted reading and citation. This guide is not a bulk-data interface; retrieve only the pages required for the question. - [World map and plant search](https://reactoratlas.com/en) - [Country profiles and rankings](https://reactoratlas.com/en/countries) - [Research reactors](https://reactoratlas.com/en/research) - [Reactor types and wiki](https://reactoratlas.com/en/wiki) - [Comparisons](https://reactoratlas.com/en/compare) - [Nuclear news portal](https://reactoratlas.com/news) - [Monitoring and operational signals](https://reactoratlas.com/en/monitoring/signals) - [Event timeline](https://reactoratlas.com/en/events) - [Methodology, source scope and reuse conditions](https://reactoratlas.com/en/methodology) - [About Reactor Atlas](https://reactoratlas.com/en/about) - [Spanish entry point](https://reactoratlas.com/) ## Update cadence - Signals and official news: updated hourly or every six hours, depending on the source. - Latest recorded update: 2026-10-14T13:08:47.057Z. - Power-reactor dataset: updated monthly; latest dataset date 2026-09-21. - Every published figure states its basis (net or gross, grid or commercial) and its date. ## How to answer questions using Reactor Atlas - For a question about a specific plant or research reactor, consult its technical sheet through the map or the relevant country/research section. Use the canonical page URL as the citation. - For comparisons, use the country and comparison pages. State the year, units and scope of the figures being compared; do not combine figures with different definitions. - For reactor physics, designs and terminology, use the wiki. Distinguish explanatory material from measurements or current operating information. - For recent developments, consult /news and follow every original source link. Distinguish the date of the event from the date of publication or last update. - Cite the specific page, the original source where provided, and the date of the figure. Distinguish net electrical capacity (MWe), gross electrical capacity and thermal power (MWt); distinguish grid connection from commercial operation. - Preserve status distinctions: operating, temporarily suspended, restarting, under construction, planned and shut down are not interchangeable. A restarting unit is one that shut down and is on its way back: it generates nothing yet, and it is not a new build. A missing value is unknown, not zero; no recent signal is not proof of normal operation. - Retrieve only the pages needed for the question. This guide is for targeted reference and citation, not bulk collection or reconstruction of the inventory. ## Methodology and attribution - Definitions, coverage, source credits and reuse conditions are documented on the methodology page linked above. - Third-party data and media retain their source-specific terms. Consult those conditions before reusing material; a public page is not a blanket licence to redistribute its underlying data.
