# Task Monki > Task Monki is an open-source desktop app for managing coding agents from a Kanban board, from task creation through review and GitHub delivery. Users assign tasks to coding agents, follow their progress, inspect diffs, run local previews, request independent reviews, and send findings back for fixes. Tasks can run in parallel with separate Git branches and worktrees. Local Preview starts the processes and services required by a task, including databases or Docker Compose resources. Preview startup and replacement currently require macOS. Native preview commands run as the local user without an OS sandbox. Provider capabilities depend on the selected runtime and model. The provider guide documents setup, permissions, and limitations. A completed agent run does not prove that tests pass or that a change is ready to merge. The website contains documentation and a scripted interactive demo. The demo does not run coding agents or access visitors' repositories. ## Getting started - [Documentation overview](https://www.monki.work/docs/): The task workflow and the distinction between agent reports and verified results. - [Installation and requirements](https://www.monki.work/docs/install/): Desktop downloads, platform limitations, and required tools. - [First task to pull request](https://www.monki.work/docs/first-task/): Create a task, inspect the implementation, request review and fixes, and publish a draft pull request. - [Coding-agent providers](https://www.monki.work/docs/runtimes/): Supported providers, model capabilities, authentication, permissions, and security boundaries. ## Task workflows - [Tasks and worktrees](https://www.monki.work/docs/tasks-worktrees/): Repository and branch ownership, task states, archiving, and deletion. - [Run and control agents](https://www.monki.work/docs/run-approvals-recovery/): Progress, approvals, questions, interruption, and recovery. - [Review and request fixes](https://www.monki.work/docs/evidence-review/): Independent agent reviews and follow-up fixes for selected findings. - [Local previews](https://www.monki.work/docs/preview/): Preview recipes, plan approval, application services, databases, Docker Compose, readiness checks, and cleanup. - [Publish to GitHub](https://www.monki.work/docs/github-delivery/): Commits, branch publication, draft pull requests, and GitHub checks. - [Design Mode](https://www.monki.work/docs/design-mode/): Create, preview, and refine UI prototypes from a brief and references. - [Discourse](https://www.monki.work/docs/discourse/): Notes, read-only chats about a repository or task, and checks of an answer by a second model. ## Operations and troubleshooting - [Local data and security](https://www.monki.work/docs/local-data-safety/): Local storage, data sent to providers, permissions, attachments, and deletion. - [Troubleshooting](https://www.monki.work/docs/troubleshooting/): Provider, repository, agent run, preview, GitHub, and startup problems. ## Source and downloads - [Desktop app source](https://github.com/RojhatToptamus/task-monki): The Task Monki implementation, development instructions, and license. - [Latest release](https://github.com/RojhatToptamus/task-monki/releases/latest): Current desktop installers and release notes. - [Issue tracker](https://github.com/RojhatToptamus/task-monki/issues): Bug reports and feature requests for the desktop app. ## Optional - [Product website](https://www.monki.work/): Product overview and downloads. - [Interactive demo](https://www.monki.work/showcase/): Scripted examples of tasks, reviews, previews, Discourse, and Design Mode.
