## For AI agents (MCP)

The recommended upload flow is `create_upload_url`, then a single HTTP PUT of the raw
file bytes to the returned `upload_url`. That URL is on filetourl.org itself (same
origin), not a third-party storage host, so it works from sandboxes that only allow
egress to an allowlist of trusted domains.

If the PUT still fails with a network, host-not-allowed, or blocked-by-allowlist error,
that is the calling agent's own sandbox network policy and not FileToUrl. Add
filetourl.org to the agent's allowlist and retry. In Claude.ai, for example, that is
Settings, then Capabilities, then Code execution and file creation.

Use `upload_file` (inline base64) only for small files, under roughly 20-30KB. Long
base64 strings retyped by a language model are prone to silent truncation with no error
raised, so the stored file can be corrupt or incomplete. For anything larger, either use
`create_upload_url` with a direct PUT, or `start_upload` / `upload_chunk` /
`finish_upload` with small chunks of roughly 8-16KB, and verify the uploaded file's size
afterward with `get_file_status`.
