# ClearBar > ClearBar is a Mac menu bar manager. It hides third-party menu bar icons (including ones lost behind the MacBook notch), keeps every one of those apps reachable in a single panel, shows how much memory each app uses, and quits or force quits apps in one click. It never asks for Screen Recording permission. ClearBar is made by Vishrut Labs, a one-person indie developer. Website: https://clearbarmac.app ## What it does - Hides third-party menu bar icons in one click. Apple's own items (battery, Wi-Fi, Control Center, clock) stay visible. Quitting ClearBar brings every hidden icon back. - Every menu bar app in one panel: click an app's tile and its own menu opens, even when its icon is hidden. Pin favorites, hide apps you never touch. - Memory use under every app, with helper processes counted toward the app that started them. Anything over 1 GB is highlighted. Sort by name or memory. - Quit an app from its tile (the app can still ask about unsaved work), or hold Option to Force Quit behind a confirmation. ## Who it is for Mac users with a crowded menu bar, MacBook users whose icons disappear behind the notch, and anyone who switched off menu bar icons in System Settings and can no longer reach those apps. ## ClearBar vs Bartender and Ice - ClearBar hides third-party icons like Bartender and Ice, and adds a panel that shows each app's memory use and quits apps. Bartender and Ice don't list either feature. - ClearBar works on macOS 26 and 27. Ice does not hide icons on macOS 27 (its last stable release is from October 2024). - Bartender and Ice optionally use Screen Recording permission; ClearBar never does. It only needs Accessibility access. - Price: ClearBar is a one-time purchase; Bartender 7 is $24.99; Ice is free. ## Pricing - One-time purchase, no subscription. All v1 updates included. - Launch price: $5 for the first 100 buyers, then $12. - 1 Mac per license, with free transfer to a new Mac. 14-day full refund. Prices include tax. Checkout by Dodo Payments. ## Requirements - macOS 26 Tahoe or macOS 27 only, on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs and older macOS versions are not supported. ## Privacy - No account, no tracking, no telemetry in the app. App list and memory readings stay on the Mac. - Network use is limited to license activation, validation and transfers. ## Links - [Home page with features, comparison, pricing and FAQ](https://clearbarmac.app/) - [Comparison with Bartender and Ice](https://clearbarmac.app/#compare) - [Bartender alternative](https://clearbarmac.app/bartender-alternative) - [Ice alternatives on macOS 27](https://clearbarmac.app/ice-alternative-macos-27) - [How to get back hidden menu bar apps on macOS 26 and 27](https://clearbarmac.app/hidden-menu-bar-icons-mac) - [Pricing](https://clearbarmac.app/#pricing) - [FAQ](https://clearbarmac.app/#faq) - Support: support@clearbarmac.app
