# BrandMyLaptop
> The laptop sticker sponsorship marketplace. People sell the sticker spots
> on their laptop lid; brands buy them for advertising. A spot has a size, a
> price and a term of 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. The brand pays, the logo goes
> to the laptop's owner for approval, the owner prints the sticker, puts it
> on and posts a photo on the listing. The money goes straight to the owner
> through their own Stripe account; the platform takes 10% and never holds
> anybody's money.
Launched 29 August 2026. It grew out of brandmymac.com, one MacBook whose
20 sticker spots were sold at auction for 7 955 € against a 3 644 €
machine.
## How a sale works
- Most lids sell at fixed prices: one price per spot, set by the owner. The brand's card is authorised, not charged; the owner approves or declines the logo. On approval the card is charged, on refusal the hold is released and nothing was charged. Several brands can hold one spot while the owner chooses.
- Some lids are auctions (since 7 September 2026): brands bid, each bid is a card hold, and at the close the highest bid the owner approved is charged. The platform takes 15% on an auction, 10% on a fixed price.
- The owner has 14 days from approval to print the sticker, apply it and post a proof photo on the listing. The listing links to the brand for the whole term.
- Brands have no account; they pay by card and are reached by email. Sellers sign in with X or LinkedIn.
- Listing a laptop costs $19 once. Brands pay the spot price and nothing else.
- The platform is party to no sale: a spot is a Stripe direct charge on the seller's own connected account, with the commission routed to the platform by Stripe.

## Guides
- [Micro-influencer marketing, offline](https://brandmylaptop.com/guides/micro-influencer-marketing): a sponsored post lasts a day in a feed; a sticker on a creator's laptop is in every video, stream and meeting for months. Costs per month against posts and retainers, how to pick a creator, how to run it.
- [Cheaper than a conference booth](https://brandmylaptop.com/guides/conference-sponsorship): a 10×10 booth costs five figures before it is staffed; a sticker on an attendee's laptop is in every talk, hallway and dinner for the price of one spot, and stays on after the event.
- [Sticker marketing that lands on a laptop](https://brandmylaptop.com/guides/sticker-marketing): a box of a thousand stickers goes mostly to drawers; a spot is one named lid with a photo. Prices by size, and how to design a sticker that reads at 4.5 cm.
- [Developer marketing, on the laptops developers carry](https://brandmylaptop.com/guides/developer-marketing): developers block ads and read each other's lids; a paid spot on a developer's laptop against newsletters, podcasts and conference tiers.
