# Assist

> Assist is a native Mac app for screenshot capture and editing, voice-powered screen annotation, clipboard history, and configurable notch modules.

Canonical product facts:

- Platform: macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
- Screenshots: press Control + Option to capture the full display. The original is saved locally before the optional quick editor appears.
- Screenshot editing: crop freely or to a fixed ratio, blur with three brush sizes, and add padding, rounded corners, a shadow, or a backdrop.
- Voice annotation: hold Option to draw over the screen and optionally speak; release Option to save the annotated screenshot.
- Voice privacy: optional WhisperKit transcription runs locally on Apple silicon after a one-time model download. Raw audio is held in memory only while transcription finishes and is never saved by Assist.
- Clipboard: Assist keeps recently copied text, links, and images locally beside screenshots and annotations.
- Modules: Clipboard is always available; Shelf, Notes, Timers, Calendar, Media, System, Screen Time, Convert, Revenue, and AI Usage can be enabled in the app.
- AI Usage: daily Claude Code and Codex token activity is read from local logs. Account quotas and reset times are not shown.
- Revenue: optional sales summaries from Stripe, Polar, or Dodo Payments require user-provided provider keys stored in the Mac Keychain.
- Reuse: copy or drag a saved item into another app, or delete it from Assist history.
- Storage: screenshots, annotations, copied text, and optional transcripts stay on the Mac unless the user deliberately sends them elsewhere.
- Pricing: one-time purchase for one Mac, with the available regional price shown on the website and at checkout. There is no recurring subscription.
