# AppScreen
> AppScreen (appscreen.co, by Omelas) is a web studio, REST API and MCP server for App Store and Google Play screenshots: it turns simulator captures into framed, captioned screenshots for the App Store product page (the "Previews and Screenshots" section of App Store Connect) and the Google Play store listing ("preview assets" under Graphics in Play Console), in every required size and up to 15 languages, exported as a fastlane deliver / supply bundle.
AppScreen converts simulator captures (PNG) into store-ready marketing screenshots. The studio supports rich-text fields with per-character formatting, real iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro device frames, multi-size rendering across iOS 6.9 / 6.7 / 6.5 / 6.3 and Google Play, alignment guides, project save with autosave, and per-screen overrides.
Usage is metered in credits: one credit is one exported image (a screen in one size and one language), so an export costs screens × sizes × languages. No plan puts a watermark on the output. Plans: Free (USD 0 — 50 credits / month, any one size per export, English, 10 screens per export, 1 saved project), Starter (USD 4 / month or 36 / year — 400 credits, all 5 sizes, any 3 languages per export, auto-translate, 50 screens per export, 3 projects), Pro (USD 8 / month or 60 / year — 2,500 credits, all 15 languages, 200 screens per export, 20 projects, programmatic API and full MCP access), Team (USD 29 / month or 288 / year — 8,000 pooled credits, 3 seats included, extra seats USD 6 / month, unlimited projects, roles, shared projects). Unused plan credits roll over one period. One-time credit packs work on every plan including Free, are valid 12 months, and need no subscription: 100 credits USD 5, 400 credits USD 15, 1,500 credits USD 39; on Free, an export paid for by a pack unlocks every size and language.
AppScreen (appscreen.co) is operated by Omelas (https://omelas.tech). It is not affiliated with the similarly named open-source "appscreen" project by YUZU-Hub on GitHub.
Store terms it covers: App Store screenshots, App Store product page and custom product pages, product page optimization, Google Play store listing, custom store listings, store listing experiments, localized screenshots, 6.9-inch (1320 × 2868) and 6.3-inch (1206 × 2622) iPhone sizes, Google Play 1080 × 1920, fastlane deliver and supply, frameit alternative.
## Pages
- [Studio](https://appscreen.co/app): Interactive editor for composing screenshot projects (requires JavaScript).
- [API](https://appscreen.co/api): Programmatic render API — CI/CD use case, curl quickstart, `POST /v1/render`, polling, idempotency keys, signed zip downloads, limits, and the TypeScript reference client.
- [Pricing](https://appscreen.co/pricing): Free, Starter, Pro and Team plans, one-time credit packs, and how credits work.
- [Integration guides](https://appscreen.co/guides): Per-framework setup (Fastlane bare iOS / Android, Flutter, React Native / Expo, Capacitor / Ionic, Kotlin Multiplatform).
- [Fastlane integration](https://appscreen.co/guides): Step-by-step setup for `fastlane deliver` (iOS) and `fastlane supply` (Android), including a sample Fastfile and CI snippet. Customer keeps custody of App Store Connect API keys and Google Play service-account credentials — AppScreen never sees them.
- [MCP server](https://appscreen.co/mcp): Generate App Store and Play Store screenshots from any Model Context Protocol agent (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex). Package `@appscreen/mcp`; tools `render_screenshots` and `get_render_status`. Works anonymously for 5 lifetime renders, or with an API key on the plan's credits.

## Programmatic API (Pro and Team)
- Endpoint: `POST https://api.appscreen.co/v1/render` (multipart/form-data).
- Auth: header `X-API-Key: ask_live_<32B>` (or `Authorization: Bearer ask_…`). Keys created at https://appscreen.co/account/keys; plaintext shown once, sha256 at rest, instant revocation.
- Returns `202 Accepted` with a `jobId`. Client polls `GET https://api.appscreen.co/v1/render/<jobId>` every 2–5 s until status is `done` or `failed`.
- Bundle download: HMAC-signed URL served by AppScreen (`/r/<key>?exp=...&sig=...`), 1 hour TTL, regenerated per poll.
- Idempotency: pass `Idempotency-Key` header (any string up to 200 chars). Repeats within 24 hours return the original job — safe for CI retries without spending credits twice.
- Limits: 200 screens / job, 30 requests / minute / key, 10 MB / file, 20 minute server-side render timeout. Metered in credits (1 per exported image): 2,500 / month on Pro, 8,000 / month pooled on Team; a key spends the credits of the workspace it was created in, and a failed job is refunded. Out of credits returns `402` with `code: "insufficient_credits"`.
- Reference client: zero-dependency TypeScript class lives in the repo at `sdk/`. Not on npm — copy the file or path-import.
- Use cases: fastlane lanes, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitrise, EAS, Codemagic, scheduled cron jobs.
## Capabilities
- Rich-text fields: Add an arbitrary number of named text fields. Each character span supports its own font, size, weight, colour, italics, underline and alignment. Includes more than 30 curated Google Fonts.
- Direct-manipulation canvas: Drag the device frame and individual text fields. Real-time alignment guides snap centres to the frame and to other elements.
- Multi-size rendering: Pick any combination of iOS 6.9, 6.7, 6.5, 6.3 and Google Play in a single job; one bundle contains every selected size.
- Fastlane export: Bundle layout matches `fastlane deliver` (iOS) and `fastlane supply` (Android). iOS and Play renders may be mixed in one bundle.
- Project save: Authenticated users persist projects to the cloud. Autosave runs every 30 seconds and uploads only the screenshot bytes that changed.
- Per-screen replacement: Swap one source screenshot without re-uploading the rest.
- Background and theme separation: Pick any background colour (preset or hex). Themes contribute structural treatments (paper grain, frame border, surface card, flat).
- Per-screen overrides: Detach a screen to assign it a dedicated theme, layout, field set or background; reattach to share project defaults again.
## Data and infrastructure
- Hosting: European Union (Contabo, Düsseldorf).
- Render outputs are removed after 24 hours.
- Saved-project screenshots are retained for the lifetime of the project.
- No training is performed on customer data; no tracking cookies on the studio interface.
