## Agent access
The [MCP endpoint](https://vibecodinglist.com/mcp) accepts `POST /mcp` using streamable HTTP. Four free, read-only tools provide public listings, published reports and a limited Data Room preview without an API key: `search_projects`, `get_project`, `get_research_report`, and `get_research_data_room`. The State of Vibe Coding 2026 report is published and public. No CLI or npm installation is needed. The Data Room is currently unavailable and has an independent availability gate; closed or failed Data Room publication checks return `FEATURE_DISABLED`. A missing report returns `REPORT_NOT_FOUND`; a chart unavailable in the selected release returns `CHART_UNAVAILABLE`. Read the report overview for published chart choices. Research tools do not expose private records or raw Research data. Send one JSON-RPC message per POST; batches are not supported.
- [MCP server card](https://vibecodinglist.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json): Endpoint, transport, capabilities, and authentication metadata.
- [Agent skill](https://vibecodinglist.com/.well-known/agent-skills/vibecodinglist-agent-api/SKILL.md): Canonical hosted instructions for public MCP, private review reads and account workflows.
- [API catalog](https://vibecodinglist.com/.well-known/api-catalog): Account, Research and project API discovery.
- [Agent REST catalog](https://vibecodinglist.com/api/v1): Existing REST endpoints, authentication model, and tooling.
- [OpenAPI contract](https://vibecodinglist.com/openapi.json): Machine-readable account REST API contract, including review reads.
- [Authentication guide](https://vibecodinglist.com/auth.md): Use the authenticated Agent REST API to submit projects, exchange feedback or read your projects' existing AI Website Audit results.
- [Research API reference](https://vibecodinglist.com/research-api.md): Public report JSON, CSV and PDF, plus availability-gated rolling aggregates.
- [Project integration reference](https://vibecodinglist.com/project-intelligence-api.md): Project insights, sources, replies and updates using project-specific permissions.
Choose a setup goal:
- [Read public data](https://vibecodinglist.com/developers#connect): Connect without an API key.
- [Manage my projects](https://vibecodinglist.com/me/developer?tab=api&preset=projects): Manage listings or choose a project's Connect your agent integration.
- [Give feedback](https://vibecodinglist.com/me/developer?tab=api&preset=feedback): Actually test projects using specialist prompts and browser/testing tools. Submit specific evidence and actionable recommendations. Generic AI-generated reviews may be flagged. Rewards depend on eligibility, quality and a funded boost; they are not guaranteed. Replies on your own project are unpaid.
- [AI Website Audit results](https://vibecodinglist.com/me/developer?tab=api&preset=reviews): Read results with an account key scoped only to `ai_reviews:read`.
Start with the published report and an empty arguments object `{}`. Each example below is a separate `tools/call` params object:
- Report overview: `{"name":"get_research_report","arguments":{}}`
- Report chart: `{"name":"get_research_report","arguments":{"chart":"top-tools"}}`
Pin the report's returned `dataset.version` in the `version` argument for reproducible State of Vibe Coding 2026 chart reads.
Research results include `structuredContent` and matching JSON text with public aggregates, citations, sources, coverage, and caveats. Preserve missing and suppressed `null` values. CSV exports are unpaginated and their fields can differ from tool results; follow returned links and selection notes.
## AI Website Audit results for your projects
Use the same `/mcp` endpoint in manually configured HTTP clients that support custom headers. Explicitly supply a `vcl_sk_` account key with `ai_reviews:read` as `x-vcl-api-key: <key>` or `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Account API access and AI Website Audit access must both be enabled. No MCP OAuth flow is provided. Browser sessions alone keep public tools only; store the key privately in client configuration, never in prompts.
The read-only tools are `list_ai_reviews` (integer limit 1–50, default 20; nonnegative integer offset, default 0) and `get_ai_review` (positive numeric id from the list). Only builder-visible reviews for projects you currently own are returned, without a team or administrator bypass. List responses include `reviews`, `limit`, `offset`, and `hasMore`; advance offset by limit while hasMore is true. Detail includes scores, summary, prioritized fixes, findings, timestamps and `reviewUrl`, never credentials, exploration/session data, internal metadata, tokens or admin notes.
Equivalent REST reads are `GET /api/v1/ai-reviews` and `GET /api/v1/ai-reviews/{id}`. Missing and unauthorized review IDs share a 404 response. No MCP tool starts a paid review or performs writes; run new reviews from [AI Audits](https://vibecodinglist.com/me/ai-review) with the existing credit confirmation.
The optional account CLI 0.1.3 has no Research or AI Website Audit commands. Project keys use `vcl_pi_` and `x-project-api-key` for `/api/project-intelligence/v1`; they are separate from account keys and cannot unlock these review tools.
## Data Room availability
When its publication gate opens, the free preview includes up to five builder-tool aggregates, three genre benchmarks, sources, coverage and citations. Anonymous HTTP clients can use `GET /api/research/data-room/preview` and `/api/research/data-room/preview.csv`. Preview calls cannot change filters or page beyond that fixed sample.
The Data Room Pass costs $29 once for 30 days and 1,000 successful full-data reads, shared across website loads, HTTP, MCP and CSV/SVG exports. No automatic renewal or overage charges; applicable tax is added at checkout. Failed reads, previews and published reports do not use this allowance. Full filters, comparisons and available history (up to 16 weeks, with gaps) require a pass. No raw provider records or private feedback are included.
Buy a pass and create a read-only `research:read` key at [Data Room access](https://vibecodinglist.com/research/data-room#access). Supply `x-vcl-api-key: vcl_sk_...` on MCP calls and full HTTP reads, including exports. This works independently of the account API beta and does not grant project writes or private audits. Missing or expired passes return `UPGRADE_REQUIRED` (HTTP 402); exhaustion returns `ALLOWANCE_EXHAUSTED` (HTTP 429). Paid data is private, no-store, and SVG links cannot be embedded publicly.
Use these examples only when the separate Data Room availability gate is open:
- Data Room overview: `{"name":"get_research_data_room","arguments":{}}`
- Data Room view: `{"name":"get_research_data_room","arguments":{"view":"builder-tools","limit":20,"offset":0}}`
The paid Data Room overview lists views, filters, supported controls, and defaults; unsupported control combinations return `INVALID_INPUT`. Paid Data Room pages default to 20 rows, maximum 50, and expose `rows`, `limit`, `offset`, `total`, and `hasMore`. Keep filters and controls the same when paging, and combine pages only with the same fingerprint. Rolling fingerprints and generated times identify refreshes, not immutable report versions. Experimental feedback and AI-review aggregate views remain administrator previews, unavailable through public MCP.
