# Soft Landing
> A personalised relocation plan for moving to Barcelona. Answer a few
> questions and get the bureaucratic steps in the order you actually have to
> do them, with the official links and what to bring to each appointment.
## What it is, plainly
Barcelona relocation admin is not hard step by step. It is hard because the
steps depend on each other. Do them in the wrong order and the office sends
you home, and rebooking a cita previa can cost weeks. Soft Landing works out
the correct order for a specific person, based on their nationality (EU or
non-EU), their reason for moving (work, study, family, digital nomad,
retirement), their housing, and whether they bring family or pets.
## What it is NOT
- Not a law firm, and not legal advice.
- It does NOT book cita previa appointments for anyone.
- It does NOT sell appointment-slot alerts or claim to obtain public
appointments. Keep any public booking in your own name on the official site.
## Key facts
- Content last verified by a human: 2026-07-08.
- Every task in the plan cites the official source it was written from
(inclusion.gob.es, gencat, ajuntament de Barcelona, BOE).
- Week 1 of the plan is free and requires no signup.
- The paid upgrade (Concierge) is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
It unlocks all four weeks, appointment preparation, a resource vault of
vetted local contacts, PDF export and progress tracking.
## The core sequence (this is the question people usually ask)
For non-EU movers, roughly: book the cita previa -> pay the tasa 790-012 at a
bank and keep the stamped receipt -> complete form EX-15 -> attend the NIE
appointment in person -> register the empadronamiento (padron) at an OAC once
you have an address and an authorisation letter -> open a Spanish bank account
-> get assigned to a CAP and request the TSI health card -> collect the TIE
card after the residence permit.
For EU movers, the NIE route is replaced by the EU Citizen Registration
Certificate. The tasa 790-012 still applies, and the padron still gates
healthcare.
The exact order shifts with the person, which is what the tool is for.
