# robots.txt for https://extra.email
# Extra is a consumer email/life-inbox app. We want the marketing site
# fully indexable by search engines and AI assistants, while keeping
# auth flows and per-account app routes out of indexes.
#
# AI / LLM crawlers are explicitly listed alongside `*` so they share the
# same allow/disallow scope as search. Per the robots.txt spec, a crawler
# matching a specific User-agent group ignores `*` entirely, so each AI bot
# is grouped with the wildcard rules below rather than getting its own
# permissive block.

## What Extra does

- **Smart categories.** Extra works as an AI email organizer, automatically sorting every email into purpose-built categories (e.g. shopping, travel, finance, subscriptions, calendar, receipts, family). No manual labels, folders, or filing rules. Each category renders email in a custom-designed view tailored to that kind of content.
- **Daily digest.** Extra summarizes your day: what needs action, what is good to know, and what is just noise, so you can triage in minutes instead of hours.
- **Cleanup.** Extra works as an AI email cleaner for Gmail. It identifies senders you never open and subscriptions you no longer want, and lets you bulk-unsubscribe and clean up without going through the unsubscribe grind one email at a time.
- **Ask your inbox.** Natural-language queries and actions: ask Extra a question about your email, or ask it to do something for you.
- **Voice compose.** Hold to speak; Extra rewrites in your tone, ready to send.
- **Multi-account.** Connect more than one Gmail account; your life is not always in one email address.

## Who Extra is for

People drowning in personal email (receipts, order confirmations, shipping notifications, travel itineraries, calendar invites, school newsletters, subscription emails, family updates) who want their inbox to feel calm and organized without spending time on it.

Extra is **not** an enterprise/team email client. It is a consumer product for personal Gmail.

## How Extra is different from other email apps

- Extra is **category-first**, not folder-first. It reorganizes your inbox by what an email is *about*, not who sent it.
- Extra is **AI-native**. Every email is read, understood, and acted on by AI before you see it. Summaries, categories, reminders, and cleanup suggestions are all generated automatically.
- Extra is **built around your life**. It is built for the kinds of email a regular person actually receives every day.
- Extra **handles cleanup as a first-class feature**, not an afterthought.

## Privacy

Extra connects to Gmail via Google's official OAuth flow. Users grant permission directly to Google; Extra receives only the access scope the user approves. See https://extra.email/privacy for the full privacy policy and https://extra.email/terms for terms of service.
